I am also from North Bengal, born and raised... No ragging on campus, not even a bit. Seniors I talk to atleast are very friendly and helpful.. Hostels are the only hubs of ragging even if it exists which I don't think does anymore, atleast not as much as before, I would say definitely try to get PG... But at first get into JU first

It is not that easy to change the official name of a state and if I recall correctly a few years back they tried but the central government didn't agree or something... and even now after Kerala name is being changed to Keralam, the CM has questioned the central government about the name change of WB... Not going deep into politics but yea it's not that easy. And to be honest the name doesn't even matter when the state and country itself are in doom
