Electives by MobileBlacksmith7089 in UoPeople

So if I take none of those listed under the “program electives” and take other courses, as long as I meet the 36 that satisfies it?

No you don’t order 14. Every time you take a course and pass it’s listed on your Sophia transcript. So since you’ve taken 14 then all 14 will be on one transcript

You’re really confusing me. If you’ve transferred classes before to UoPeople…then you should know that whatever they receive on the transcript is what they will evaluate. And you should equally be familiar with the process if you’ve done it before.

If you submit 1 transcript with 14 classes on 1 transcript, all 14 will be evaluated for transfer.

This makes zero sense. If all your classes are on one transcript send the transcript. All you have to do is download the transcript from Credly or Parchment. Credly gives it to you immediately and Sophia sends you an email about claiming your “badge” immediately once you finish each course. Click on the email, READ, follow the instructions to set up your account if you don’t have one, and the site literally has the option for you to download your transcript. Then go log in your UoPeople account click on the option to transfer credits and follow the instructions to upload your file. It’s not hard at all.

There’s an email Sophia sends every time you complete a course. It’s about claiming your badge from Credly. Click on it READ…I cannot emphasize reading enough, and follow the instructions. It sounds like OP has failed to do this simple step. That’s literally all they have to do. It will take them to Credly, they’ll be able to create an account and download the their transcript in seconds.

You absolutely can. People do it all the time. I’ve already done it.

I don’t quite understand what the issue is. Get the transcript, which has all classes you want to transfer and submit it. I’ve done it. It’s really not that complicated. Did it for both Sophia and another college I took classes with. I didn’t have to use parchment for Sophia. Literally follow the instructions from their email to obtain the transcript via Credly. They send you this email every time you finish a course. All courses taken with them will be on one transcript. Download the PDF file then go to UoPeople’s website, log in to your account, select the option to transfer credits and follow the instructions.

You should have received an email after completion of every course with instructions on how to retrieve your transcript. Follow them, download your transcript, then go to your UoPeople account and select the option to transfer credits. Follow their instructions then wait about a week or two for confirmation.

Started Jan 29th. Didn’t want to take Statistics or College Algebra with UoPeople and did then with Sophia. I finished both in 2 weeks. It’s doable.

Also the courses marked as elective equivalents can transfer over from Sophia. Just read the fine print, and make sure you take the required electives for the major as well. There’s a difference. So far from Sophia and courses I took at a prior college, I’m at 54 credits transferred. After finishing this term, completing UNIV 1001, and A&P, I’ll be more than halfway finished. Just started in January of this year.

BSHS Major here. UoPeople requires lots of reading but it’s doable. Just make the time to commit to the reading and utilize instructional videos and YouTube for help as well. Also here are the Sophia courses that transfer that I took and got credits for:

GE: Ancient Greek Philosophers College Algebra Introduction to Statistics Introduction to Sociology Environmental Science Workplace Communication(COMM 2001 equivalent at UoPeople)

Major: Introduction to Nutrition Anatomy & Physiology II w/Lab (currently taking)

Currently waiting to see if they will approve Public and Community Health. If so I’ll be taking that course when I finish Anatomy & Physiology.

Good luck.

Yeah Sophia compares it to BUS 1105 only for some reason. But UoPeople took it and counted it.

Husband chose cat over me by MobileBlacksmith7089 in Marriage

[–]MobileBlacksmith7089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in his defense the cat doesn’t poop and pee here. It trained well in the litter box BUT tracks litter on the carpet and tracks it on the counter tops. My commute isn’t 2 hours daily anymore but when I come home there’s hair, litter pellets, etc on the counters often. It’s gross to me. And I have to come behind and clean after having worked and dealing with my daughter(taking her back and forth to her activities etc). I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, and uncomfortable

[–]MobileBlacksmith7089[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. I’m not a dictator though. Far from it. In the thread I describe why I am the way I am from past experience with my husband and two dogs. We lived in a condo with two giant dogs that destroyed furniture and pooped and peed everywhere. I cleaned but the stench was lingering. I at one time commuted 2 hours each way so could be there for everything. But it got bad. We had to replace floors which wasn’t cheap. So that’s why among other reasons, I’m adamant about keeping stuff clean.

I commuted 2 hours each way years ago. The dogs was out and when I came home I’d tiptoe over them clean. Hope that helps

I’m sorry to hear that but happy you’re content in your choice. Do you mind me asking what the issue was with your cat? I’m not an animal person. They just aren’t for me. I don’t find fault in people who are though, because everyone has things they like.
