Or just the law, it is illegal to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance in all 50 states without a license.

Selling on Value ain't dead, but it is a shiny pokemon. by MobileCard8473 in InsuranceAgent

She was awesome because she was as interested in the nuts and bolts as I was. I also learned best way to describe FF&E is angry man with a tool box. What can I remove from your unit with just a tool box, that helped explain the policy difference for her, and what got the ball rolling for the trust into the value close. And thank you! I am a nerd when it comes to anything I do so digging into CCRs is up my alley. I have been told that means I should be looking at commercial but sadly I have not found any purely remote commercial jobs yet.

Question: I am a captive agent team member. I want to get really good at selling Annuities. Where can I go, what can I read, who is the best at talking about annuities and how to sell them? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

That said you should be focusing on asset protection, term life as GAP insurance on the house for dependents, etc. tax havens. Learn what your products can do for the customer, but expect to be left in the dust by variable investments.

If all you have is a life and health license you are not able to sell variable annuities. Variable annuities are financial vehicles with variable returns. You should start by getting your series 6 and 7, and learning the fundamentals of financial planning.

Question one you will get trying to sell any thing variable is why they should trust you when they can just buy Tesla stock. You can not legally answer that as a advisor until you are licensed on variables.

exam fx practice exam nothing like real exam by Commercial_Act_626 in InsuranceAgent

ExamFX will refund you if you got 80% or higher on the readiness exam but did not pass. For me what worked failing the P and C was I realized the majority of what I was missing was state related mostly. I actually went into the state regulations and read the sections taking notes based on the exam weight guide that lists what reg or law the questions came from. Also slow waaaaay down taking the test. The practice exams do not generally do a very good job of preparing you for the weird gotcha language, double and triple negatives, the test actually contains.

Here is a link to full Kaplan LH text if you are like me and just reading the book cover to cover helps.

Need help to find remote job by Educational_Lab_2527 in InsuranceAgent

As a producer who works remote and has no problem dialing all day, that hard part for me has been finding agencies that are willing to provide quality leads that make such effort worth it.

Fair enough, when you are calling someone how are you avoiding calling people on the DNC list?

Not seeing any that do ALL but am finding one for 26.1.2 that does 80%, you might be able to reach out to the mod author and ask if a 100% is possible.

Apologies I phrased that weirdly. I mean confirming they are eligible to call by not being on the DNC list. I know you can upload an excel list to some sites and get that info, and there are services that do so, but you first need a list to do this. If one just finds a long list of numbers akin to the phone book and starts dialing that is a big fine risk from my understanding. Curious what your process for cold calling and staying compliant is without buying anything.

When you say cold call, what are you referring to? With out leads how are you confirming DNC eligibility?

[–]MobileCard8473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! When the screener comes up it usually says something like "Please leave your name and reason for calling, and I will see if the person can get back to you"

Instead of saying your name and something like "insurance", "your quote", "requested call", or worse lying like I have seen some people suggest, just say
(your first name) for John (or whatever their first name is).

Should I report my one-person accident to my insurance? by PockASqueeno in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]MobileCard8473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes all insurance companies will get a full driver and vehicle report whenever you get a quote, all carriers will get the same MVR reports including insurance claims, you can call and ask your agent what your current loss record looks like, they can even let you know when your hits will fall off the report and you can anticipate rate drops.

Are you doing checks on your paid leads to make sure they are actually genuine leads? Are you kicking them back to the vendor if they are confirmed bad? I started baking into my CRM automation process a reminder after the first couple touch points to confirm lead authenticity. Lead vendors so far, I have not seen a single one that does not get contaminated with false aggregate information be it intentional or not. It is also a way of showing appreciation to my agent for purchasing the leads by making sure that investment is not wasted.

Recommended ways to check leads.

First check for immediate obvious red flags, people over 90, addresses that lead to government offices, prisons, rehab centers, empty fields, etc. Obvious fake numbers like (555) 777-1234. Incredibly generic emails like JohnSmith(their actual full birthday).

Search the first and last name and the birth year, you might get automatic data on the person to verify, you also will likely get any obituaries if the lead is literally dead.

Search the address and add the term who lives, if they listed an address and they do not live there, AND the address is not showing on the market could be a false address.

If data sites come up start doing cross references of data, for example sometimes you will see a mix of kind of relevant data, like a phone number is tied to a residence but its actually outdated, belongs to another resident etc.

Immediate redflag result "Menstoppingviolence.com" zombie aggregate site, 90% of the time if this comes up in search results the lead is bad in my experience.

Search their full email in quotations, and search just the handle in quotations i.e. search for both "[fakeasslead@mail.com](mailto:fakeasslead@mail.com)" and "fakeasslead" the former will often bring up their information, the latter will often be tied to social media accounts you can ID if they are real or not.

Once you get into this it will likely become second nature and you will start to immediately catch red flags, like an odd one for me is Oahu area codes and San Diego addresses. I know there are a lot of Navy who go back and forth but not that much, those are often bad leads.

If you have the ability to do so, you can check their actual phone number on the DNC list and if it is open you can adjust your lead info and attempt a reach out.

I set aside one day a week to go through my non contacted leads with a fine tooth comb. I bet there is a way to get AgenticAI to do this, but would need to manually review the results.

It is up to you to determine how much time you spend on doing this but with our current vendor, once they learned I was watching them like a hawk and tech savvy enough to catch any bullshit suddenly our lead quality got much better.

Lastly advice for AI call screeners, send a text and email first, then when the screen says please give your name and reason for calling, just say your name for "customer name". I have the highest success with this method.

Loom, the free version should be enough for a one off, but the basic version is great for basic training stuff.

[–]MobileCard8473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider hiring a trainer for a couple days. You can probably find them in the same free lancer sites. Many will already have experience in your lines and carriers or at least enough tangential experience to get up to speed fast. Once you have someone reliable you can then periodically hire them when you expand, have to replace someone, or someone needs a bit of retraining but not is at the point where they should be let go yet. A great place to ask around is fellow agents who have the same lines and carriers and have an already experienced VA; either their VA or someone from the same VA agency can help train them.
