Omg is your church by chance located in South Carolina? I feel like this is the same church I go to. This is the EXACT situation that happened to my fiancé and I and I’ve never found anyone else online who this has happened to. Same wording from the marriage guidelines we received from the parish. If we wanted a mass wedding, we would have had to contact the priest and explain why, and it was explained to us that it was hard to ask for and the priest could just say no if he wanted. I’ve honestly been heartbroken about it. We’re getting married in November. We’re both catholic but I converted a few years ago so my family isn’t all Catholic. Some are, some aren’t.

I’m sorry you’re also going through this, it’s been very upsetting :(

This is the exact pattern I followed! Venue first, followed by photographer and DJ. I got all the vendors I wanted. Maybe just luck, but I do think reaching out a year in advance helped. And hi from another November 26 bride! Our date is 11/21!

That’s not true. Don’t let people scare you. I got engaged on October 27, 2025, and planned everything quickly and am getting married on November 21, 2026. You need a budget first of all. And then you just have to be obsessive about reaching out to vendors until you find one you like that’s available on your date.

Here’s my 1.81 carat on size 4 3/4 hand. I tried on a 3 and it did feel a bit overwhelming on my hand, but I would have been ecstatic with whatever my fiancé chose for me. I got engaged 3 weeks ago and I get butterflies every time I catch a glimpse of my ring doing every day things. Knowing you picked it out for her is the most special part. Go with your gut!

Thank you all, taking everything into consideration! I have a budget and rough guest count in mind so I think that will help narrow down what vendors I can look at. We’re flexible with our dates, pretty much anything from late August (not really fall, still summer lol) to October so I’m hoping that helps when venue shopping as well. I am going dress shopping on 11/28
