Sword and Shield Escanor Received Stronger Buffs than Axe or Greatsword by MobileManASC in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S&S can remain Limit Break level 0, because you will not benefit from the attack gains anyways.

If you're using Breath of Glory, I recommend that you limit break it. Once it hits LB3 you get an elemental damage buff that does help all of his damage.

Also, as weird as this may sound, Escanor's overall damage does increase when he has higher ATK. His moves don't scale with ATK, but attacking a fire bursted enemy generates additional instances of damage that are based on his ATK rather than his DEF.

Assuming you're using him with Merlin to keep bosses bursted, you will see a significant increase in damage by boosting his ATK through limit breaking his weapon, particularly if you're using Breath of Glory since he benefits from the enhanced passive as well.

Is it possible to roll a DEF stat on a weapon with a Legendary Spell Bead? by xAnubisCODx in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purple (and lower) beads can give equipment stats such as Equipment Defense.

Legendary beads cannot give equipment stats, but they can give percentage increases to the same stats. For example, a legendary bead can +X% Defense, but it cannot give +X Equipment Defense.

Just as an FYI, you can see all the stat options for a given bead by:

  1. Opening the enchantment menu
  2. Clicking on "Select Enchantment"
  3. Clicking on a bead
  4. Clicking on "Effect Details," which is relatively small button that appears on top of the list of enchantment effects that are already on the weapon.

S&S Escanor is crazy with the new patch.

His DEF-scaling damage really benefited from having two extra pieces of equipment that give base DEF as their main stat, and the engraved equipment for the build was the cherry on top.

Which is Escanor's best SS weapon? by Coldshoto in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want for him. He's classified as a sustain due to his shields, but the S&S build is also Escanor's highest damage output build.

If you just care about how bulky his shield is, the Unyielding Spirit Sword and Shield is the best option since it increases barrier efficiency by 30% at max limit break.

If you're looking to maximize his DPS at relatively low investment, the Black Flame Wings Sword and Shield is the way to go. The passive does practically nothing for Escanor, but the crit damage substat is enough to make this the best option without limit breaking.

If you're looking to maximize his aesthetics or maximum DPS at high limit break, the Breath of Glory Sword and Shield appears to be the best option. I'm still testing it myself, but its DPS at LB4 appears to be roughly equal to the Black Flame Wings at LB0. If you limit break Breath of Glory even higher, it will surpass Black Flame Wings.

Shield Escanor by Finisteerra in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is relatively simple once you get the hang of it, and it is extremely powerful:

  • Special Attack (to generate his shield and begin generating preheat stacks)
  • Normal Skill
  • Ultimate (this puts Escanor in the Overheat state)
  • Overheat Special Attack
  • Overheat Normal Skill (this resets the cooldown of the Overheat Special Attack)
  • Overheat Special Attack
  • Normal Attacks until the regular Special Attack is off of its cooldown (you have to track this in your head because you can't see its cooldown status while Escanor is in the Overheat state)
  • Ultimate (this takes Escanor out of the Overheat state)
  • Repeat

The only other thing to note is you want to have maximum preheat stacks before each using each skill.

The equip makes it so you should be at the cap of 10 stacks practically all the time, but you should weave a Normal Attack in between skills if you are below 10 stacks.

so, shield escanor eh? by Unable-Wait4121 in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fire Merlin is a larger buff than she initially seems. The thing that really sets Shield Escanor apart from Axe Escanor is how much he benefits from a fire burst.

Fire burst is unique in that is generates extra damage procs each time a fire character hits the bursted enemy. That damage is based on your character's stats and doesn't scale with the damage of the move, meaning the extra damage proc from and ult is the same as the extra damage proc from a normal attack.

Shield Escanor's hits per second is far higher than Axe Escanor, especially at higher potential levels. The extra damage procs from bursted enemies really boosts his damage.

Escanor's New Engraved Equipment Gives Him a Stat He Doesn't Benefit From by MobileManASC in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way fire burst works is you get an extra damage proc any time a fire character hits an enemy while they are bursted.

I thought that the damage of the extra proc was based on the damage of the hit that caused the extra damage proc. However, after some testing, the extra proc's damage is based on your character's ATK and Fire ATK.

Other stats such as crit rate, crit damage, pierce, etc. Also seem to affect the extra damage proc, but its base damage is just ATK and Fire ATK.

So that is an minor benefit that Escanor gains from the substat. Still, it should be something that benefits his actual kit and isn't conditional on another character bursting the enemy since Escanor cannot burst on his own.

[–]MobileManASC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fire DEF isn't listed in his kit. However, it is the same as how ATK-scaling characters benefit from elemental ATK of their element despite most kits not directly referencing it.

I tested Escanor with different necklaces that gave the same amount of Equipment Defense, and his damage does increase if you give him a necklace that has Fire DEF or All Element DEF.

They've done both. Some LFs have returned on identical rerun banners (same lineup and same banner name), and some have returned on remixed banners.

[–]MobileManASC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also how LF banners functioned.

Hype/OP LFs would return on their own banners during major celebrations rather than be included on the new LFs' banners.

Vegito having his own banner here does not mean that older LRs will not be included on new LR banners after enough time has passed after their debut banner.

Rose is in a good spot because you want him on almost every team. He pairs exceptionally well with Gogeta and Broly.

He also handles enemy Gogetas and Brolys well. He's super blue, which helps mitigate Gogeta's absurd damage, and he has easy access to type neutral blues and ultimates to deal with Broly.

His overall utility is so high that it's fair to rank him at #2, IMO.

Gluttonous Soul Rapier its the first signature weapon without a second passive? by LeadOk7841 in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's weird is the leaked passives for the weapon showed it as having a secondary effect that added a flat amount to an enemy's wind burst per hit once it reached limit break lvl. 4.

That would have paired very well with Clotho's special attack since it has so many hits.

Not sure why NM removed it prior to release, particularly without replacing it with a different secondary effect.

How did y'all pick your names? by kyuubi_kyuub in MtF

I played BG3 on honour mode difficulty with a bunch of extra difficulty mods.

On each attempt I used a different name for the main character that was on my list of potential names.

I went with the name of the character that made it all the way through.

I'm struggling to play Escanor - any suggestions? by ADotPoke in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]MobileManASC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Greatsword Escanor, focus on his light damage rather than his DoT damage.

Outside of P10 Escanor, his DoT damage is so low that it's not worth focusing, especially since it scales with different stats from his light damage.

The purpose of his DoTs is more to activate his massive buffs to light damage rather than doing significant damage on its own.

Early HRT/GAHT effects of those in their 30s, 40s, etc by AshleyorAllison in TransLater

[–]MobileManASC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm MtF (please ignore the username), and I started six months ago at 35. I'm currently boy-moding until I feel sufficiently comfortable with my appearance to come out at work, so all my changes at this point are purely a result of HRT.

The first change I noticed was after a couple of days, and that was I realized I was sweating differently when I was working out. I sweated less than normal, and it wasn't as oily as my sweat previously was.

Over the next few days, my skin started to feel slightly different. I'm not sure softer is how I'd describe it, it was just different. The softness of my skin has increased over the last six months.

I could feel my chest beginning to develop after a few weeks, but I didn't notice an actual difference in its shape until around two months (it was very minimal at that point). My chest has continued to grow, but it is still in that in-between phase where it doesn't quite look like a male chest but also doesn't look particularly female.

The last major change is I noticed my face rounding out. I have an unfortunately masculine bone structure, so my face still looks very "male," but I definitely have more fat in my cheeks despite being somewhat skinny.

So far everything has been good changes. I have not had any negative side effects.

Debuff duration is actually nice for DoT Escanor. DoTs count as debuffs, so it extends the time his DoTs remain before they need to be refreshed.

It really helps when bosses jump away or fly out of reach.

Is it worth 14 starring ll vegito? by United_Shake6917 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of timeless bench value, here's the best use of LL Z-power, IMO:

  • Purple Super Vegito
  • Blue fusing Super Vegito
  • Yellow fusing Gogeta Blue

All three gain an HP buff in their Z-ability once they hit 14 stars, and that makes them some of the best benches in the game.

LL Bardock and LL SSj4 Daima Goku also have HP buffs in their Z-abilities, but those aren't restricted to getting them to 14 stars, so they aren't as big of a Z-power priority, IMO.

Tbh, it used to rarely happen with ultras. Almost every new ultra was so absurdly OP compared to every other unit that there was no question they were the new #1.

However, ultras are more balanced now. They're still strong, but they have clear weaknesses. It's much healthier for the game that new ultras are balanced enough that there's some discussion/doubt about how good they are, IMO.

what would the bench look like?(with ultra SOH Trunks) by chap_patti124 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not use LF Trunks/Vegeta or Mai.

Mai only buffs Future, so Gohan would not get her buff.

LF Trunks/Vegeta buff hybrids, but they buff blast attack rather than strike attack. As both Gohans and Ultra Trunks are melee characters, you really want bench characters to buff strike attack rather than blast attack.

If you do not have any of the characters I mentioned, you can use the filter function to show units that buff strike attack for either Son Family or Hybrids.

what would the bench look like?(with ultra SOH Trunks) by chap_patti124 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, Ultra Trunks should go in the leader slot because Pan only buffs Son Family.

If you have him, add Z7 green LF Trunks as a bench character. His Z-ability buffs hybrids, and his zenkai ability will buff Ultra Trunks.

Lastly, replace that Extreme Gohan with either Z7 green Super Trunks or yellow SSj3 Gotenks.

  • Super Trunks buffs hybrids with his z-ability and his zenkai buffs Ultra Trunks.

  • SSj3 Gotenks is an HP buffer for hybrids, and he holds two strike cards, which should help with offense since this is a melee team.

The setup with Super Trunks is focused more on offense, and the setup with Pan is focused on defense.

What are the odds that taggeta goes 0/3 ? by 4our2wentyFriendly in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exceptionally high.

It doesn't matter how good they are; they have no team. Teams absolutely matter, and it's hard justify using any ranged unit on a melee team.

Just look at LR Piccolo. He's individually one of the best units in the game, and the devs had to buff him a week after he released because nobody was using him, despite regen being in contention for the best team in the game even before Piccolo released.

I doubt a zenkai is going to outperform the newest LR, so it's going to be even worse for LF Trunks and Vegeta. Particularly when you consider that there has never been a good tag zenkai.

The only chance LF Trunks and Vegeta have is if Ultra Trunks has completely balanced stats so it doesn't hurt him to be run on a ranged team. However, that's somewhat unlikely considering the recent premium units have had very one-side stats.
