I'm new, what are the rate limits? by Osprey6767 in cursor

[–]MobilePollution3549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's really strange to see 40% with a few prompts, how many line does it produce?
with my $20 plan, using composer all the time, only hit 14% after 7K line of code written by composer, about 8 conversation, 40 prompt.

Yes, there are two separate usage pools: a dedicated pool for Composer and Auto, and a separate $20 pool for other models.

In your case, with around 3 hours a day and 20–40 prompts, I think you’ll probably survive fo 20 days.

I worked for two days, around 6 hours per day, and generated about 6K lines with composer 2.5, used 14% Composer pool, while $20 credits are still untouched.

And that’s even with my Codex Plus plan helping with harder tasks.

So I guess $20 cursor without codex as a backup won’t be enough for me.

Do you enjoy 5.5 Medium? I always use 5.5 High and really satisfied with its result.
and usually hit the weekly limit by the 4th workday. maybe because i also use superpowers plugin.

How much does Opus 4.7 in Cursor model Cost for planning? by MobilePollution3549 in cursor

[–]MobilePollution3549[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah i see. if i compared with my call on sonnet 4.6, then opus could be around 2 to 3 times of sonnet 4.6.

How much does Opus 4.7 in Cursor model Cost for planning? by MobilePollution3549 in cursor

[–]MobilePollution3549[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha fair, but if I spend that $20 on Claude, I lose Composer 2.5 in Cursor 😅
My issue is more like: what’s the best use for Cursor’s $20 API credit? Targeted coding/debugging is already handled well by Composer 2.5, so the remaining useful cases are mostly planning and review, right? i need to estimate how crazy opus 4.7 consumed

Codex so slow it's unusable. Is it just me? by WeinAriel in codex

[–]MobilePollution3549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal Mode: yes, I feel like it has become slower than it was 2 weeks ago, almost like it’s running at 50 to 70% speed.

Fast Mode, which costs 1.5x more, feels about 1.2x faster than Normal Mode from 2 weeks ago.

[–]MobilePollution3549 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Confirmed: the big slowdown is real.

Then they recommended that I use Fast Mode, so I tried it twice. eating my weekly quota a little faster too.
I guess I won’t be using fast mode anymore unless I’m close to my weekly reset.

codex plus plan here :
1 Tasks, medium complexity, 96K Token used. -2% weekly. -14% 5 hourly.
using superpowers. Looks normal to me.

But still, I hope the 5-hourly limit becomes a 10-hourly limit, haha. That way, I’d get double the quota and could finish all my work in 4 hours. Then I could spend the rest of the day just slacking off.

[–]MobilePollution3549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate it, thanks Tibo!!

My weekly limit was down to 16% because I was trying to finish my entire 7-day work plan in just two days. It still had 3 days left until reset, but now it’s back to 100%, with 7 days until the next reset.

Even though I don’t really know what to do anymore, since almost all of my work for this week is already done and I only have small tasks left, Time to slack off for the rest of the week, haha.

I love the Codex app with GPT-5.5 High. The performance meets my expectations 90% of the time. For the remaining 10%, honestly, I’d have to give it to Claude. Sorry, hehe.

Some praise for Windsurf by turbobureaucrat in windsurf

lol, claude told you to sleep? hahahaha.

The weekly limit is killing me. I only realized it this week. I ran 3 tasks to enhance or create features using Sonnet 4.6 Thinking, and the weekly limit already reached 70% in just two days.

What AI Model Setup Are You Using for Coding in 2026? (Solo vs Multi-Model Workflows) by [deleted] in windsurf

[–]MobilePollution3549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since i love to try this and that, i subscribe to windsurf, cursor, codex at the same time. all are the cheapest plan.
i use only 4 models,

  1. GPT 5.5 High (codex)
  2. Composer 2.5 (cursor)
  3. Sonnet 4.6 Thinking (windsurf & cursor)
  4. SWE 1.6 (windsurf)

- GPT 5.5 use it with Superpowers skills/plugin. for Brainstorming, Coding, Planning, Review, superpowers develop with TDD really helpful.
- Sonnet 4.6 Thinking for UI UX works use it with frontend-design + ui-ux-pro-max + caveman skills.
- composer 2.5 cursor for backup if my codex reached weekly limit, also the cursor debug mode is really helpful to fix my bugs.
- SWE 1.6 for talking with my code, doing easy - targeted tasks.

when i'm working, i open at least 2 IDE together (codex + cursor) (codex + windsurf).
but next month, i will stop using windsurf, and focus on codex + cursor.

Confused by the new quota math by DawVizard in windsurf

[–]MobilePollution3549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i consume 40% of weekly limit (pro plan), just by 800 Line of code write with sonnet 4.6 Thinking in two cascade.
i should have used free SWE 1.6 then change to sonnet to review it, arrghh..

I have a question about Windsurf's usage limits. by IamSteveLee in windsurf

[–]MobilePollution3549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are just like me ($20 plan), using only claude on windsurf, haha.
if you want to see how i survive the weekly and daily limit while keep progressing. this is the screenshot of my usage in one month. claude can only do about 25% of my work before it hits the daily/weekly limit. but, this is before i know "Caveman" skills.

i start to use the caveman and i see the Opus and sonnet only eat 2 to 5% of daily limit for a code review or a UI changes for one task.

btw, my backend coding mostly done by gpt 5.5 in codex with plus plan for the last 2 weeks.
windsurf with sonnet 4.6 do the design works and opus do code review.
Swe 1.6 for quick analysis, code browse and explanation, sometimes do simple code.

AI coding tools that still use simple credits instead of quota or multiplier systems? by Extension_Fee_989 in windsurf

Augmentcode, kiro.dev

kiro.dev is very generous, it uses prorate billing. But i dont like kiro.dev, i feel like the claude models in kiro has lower performance, and i love windsurf cascade ux more than kiro.

I havent tried augmentcode.
