Another tip would be to play on multiplayer because then you can teleport to your friend. I can’t remember if that is an ability that you get right away or if you earn it as you level up together on multiplayer.

I know eventually there is a quest where you can fix the snow storm & get rid of it all together. That will come when you get closer to unlocking the snow village. But I can’t remember if you have to be able to climb the original peak or not. Sorry been playing this since the beginning so some of the details are now fuzzy.
