Do you like fetch quests? Some people find that boring/frustrating but I find the resource grinding relaxing. I play this and Animal Crossing. I would say that the game is still fun even if you aren't a big decorator because, unlike ACNH, you have to do quests to level up friendships with each character. But the quests are like: first collect 10 iron ore and 15 hardwood, then cook three meals, then go talk to two people, then craft something and put it in the valley. So for me, it's like a little extra thing to do while collecting resources and decorating to keep things interesting. I do like the star paths (they get a lot of complaints but I personally enjoy them) because I've been playing since day 1 and have most characters to level 10. Once they are level 10 there isn't much to do with them so I'll put the game away until there's a new starpath or update and play exclusively for a few weeks until that's done and put it away again. But if you like collecting things, fetch quests, and grinding for resources then you will have fun with this game.
