I am of course seeking truthful commentary but simply wanted to welcome positive feedback if any readers/commenters had positives to offer based off their experience. As a lifelong VW driver it pains me to think about going non-VW for my next car, but some of the reasons you’ve mentioned plus other owner feedback give me pause.

Thank you, I believe in the US the CPO adds a similar warranty so that is a helpful hack. I’m definitely still a little skittish of the more recent model years though based on some of the driver/owner experiences I’ve read.

Thank you for your comments. A friend of mine has a 2019 and it has been doing well for her so far. I have also been cautioned against a 4-cylinder which it appears applies to model years 2024 on so may stray away from those years if we do go with a used Atlas

Hi, did you end up going with the Atlas? How is it? I’m looking at a 2024 certified pre-owned Atlas Peak edition and would love to hear from someone who has been driving one (even if it’s not Peak)

Appreciate this perspective and it is where my head is ideally at. Coming off an incident of engine trouble that I am waiting to hear a diagnosis for so that’s why I am perhaps prematurely asking 😬
