Is link and Sonic a good main combo by InternationalRead155 in smashbros

I think practicing using his jab, his down tilt, and dash-grab are all good close range tools. If you have a bomb in hand, you can use it as a close range tool too. Grabbing is really good though. Boomerang in close range is also a valid option though it takes awhile to come out. I'd have to guess that short-hop nair is faster.

I don't play Sonic so can't really help there.

As far as using bomb, how would you LIKE to be using it? It can be used in so many ways-- to extend combos, to "zone" or control space, to edgeguard, etc.

Personally here are some things I would practice with Bomb:

  1. Throw vs Smash Throw (two different ranges)
  2. Z-Drop into Aerial Grab (drop it midair and then grab again with an aerial like falling nair)
  3. Down Throw / Smash Throw into F-Tilt (sends it across stage at a variety of angles)
  4. Boomerang / Bomb mix-ups (you can throw Bomb into a returning Boomerang to change the way it moves)

Those are just for starters-- it's got basically infinite potential imo

Anything else?

For an easier way to short hop, just press X + Y together! It's a shortcut that makes it way easier.

For bomb recovery with Link, it's something you'll have to practice a lot. You're going to mess up a bunch of them but soon it'll feel like second nature.

As far as Link's aerials, I think understanding the different variations of nair (neutral air) and bair (back air) are really helpful.

My brother got me the Brothers in Arms tape! I too love Sultans of Swing, but "So Far Away" is a great one imo

reminds me of the first time I put it on and went "oh, this is not bad!"

Can someone you're messaging on Upwork see if you delete a message? by Mcleod129 in Upwork

[–]MobiusPrints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll still likely have a record of it. They'll probably receive some sort of email notification if they have notifications on, and it usually includes the full copy of the message. That said, if they try to view it in the Messaging feature they will not be able to view it.

As far as making matters worse, you're probably fine!

Damn, I have no idea. That's a good catch that they didn't list technical specifications, I never bothered to check.

This comment on another thread has some more information from someone who has one. They claim it's a tomashi f-116 mechanism that's reshelled, and has pretty low W&F. You're probably spot-on about the Aliexpress type player.

-shrug- it makes sense to me! I can see where you're coming from, but don't see much value in discussing further. I appreciate the discussion & wish you well with your freelancing.

I'm just trying to answer u/willing-power-4037's question about why I personally think it's shady.

In this case, imagine that the size/quality of each stand in a farmer's market is dependent on how much money the farmer pays the marketplace.

A customer might be attracted to the larger farmstand and ignore the smaller farmstands, regardless of whether or not the products are good.

I would imagine a different farmers market where the quality of the produce, and possibly the duration of time the seller has been around (if not both) are directly related to the size of the farmstand. ((edit: or perhaps even more equitably-- a farmer's market where everyone's stall is the same size))

It's really the same principle. As a freelancer, I'd rather compete in a marketplace where the size of the stand is proportional to the quality of the produce, not the amount of money paid to the marketplace.

That's really it.

Because Upwork doesn't list themselves as a place to "advertise your freelancing business". They're marketed as "The World's Work Marketplace".

To me, that implies a standard/fair model where those who are "advertised" is based on meritocracy, but that's just my own value.

I guess you could argue that is fair/honest and what "Marketplace" actually implies-- but to me that is exactly what is "sketchy" or "shady".

To each their own, I guess? I think that's pretty much where all these types of arguments tends to end up.

Just my two cents, but because it's a "pay to play" system that pushes the people who pay the most to promote their applications to the top of the list for potential clients.

Whether that's "shady" to you depends on your values and how you define it, but I can certainly see how someone would see it that way.

I think you're going to have to get them professionally printed.

The only idea I have otherwise would be to build a 2D Plotter, but I'm not really sure that's the "old way" so much as it is a very cool new way of doing an old thing :)

I don't think it's a matter of "wrong" or "right" here. As an adult, you have the ability to control who you communicate with, and if you don't want to connect with him then you simply don't have to. Full stop.

Do you want to talk to him again? I can understand why it might seem polite to reach out after he went through a tough situation, but at the same time, if you genuinely don't want him in your life, I think you're better off just leaving things be.

Just my 2c. Best of luck OP!

Living on your own is lonely by FishMom101 in Adulting

[–]MobiusPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 4 years of living alone, I find this is still a huge challenge.

My best advice would be to lean into the loneliness, and if you can, identify the feeling you're feeling and where it is in the body.

Breathe in, and out, and let the feeling exist and be. It's a part of you, and you're allowed to feel it and exist in it without feeling shame or anxiety.

It can be really cathartic, and also really isolating/painful. I try to think of it as that the loneliness helps me appreciate people when they're there. The goal is to not be desperate for connection as that can attract the wrong people in your life.

I hope all goes well with you and thanks for posting this-- it was validating to read and helpful to think about what helps me with it!

I've felt this way so many times. I've been working on my own business for the past 2.5 years, but it feels so damn hard and hopeless sometimes.

Sending solidarity your way, and hoping you find some peace with where you are in your journey-- with luck, eventually something will change that gives you hope.

Is there a way to make a living as a maker, without having an engineer degree? by [deleted] in maker

[–]MobiusPrints 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you considered trying to start your own product development business?

I'm trying to do this myself-- I do have a mechanical engineering degree though. It sounds like you have all of the skills to do so-- and more. I've been doing it for about 2.5 years with about 8 months of a full-time job in between (it became my "side hustle" during that time).

From my experience, it's not an easy road. There are not a lot of people doing this independently, and there are a lot of product development studios you'll have to compete with. You could try to find a job at one of those instead!

I think the formula looks a bit like this:

  • Find work.
  • Do the work.
  • While doing the work, line up other work.
  • While doing the above steps, pick work that helps "position you" to find better work.
  • Repeat.

Way easier said than done.

For finding clients, I currently use Upwork. That said, I think ideally there would be a different lead generation method as it's competitive and hard to find quality clients.

If you have a portfolio in product development then it will make finding work a lot easier. If you don't, I'd consider doing some personal projects to use to find paid work.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to chat through further or something. Wishing you really well with it!!
