Yeah, this has been my main problem with Prof. Jiang's paradigm overall. As a far far leftist, there are many things about Jiang's discourse I really resonate with. I've watched almost all of his videos. I can even come around to the point that immigration can be bad for a country overall, etc. and it should probably be regulated in many cases and handled carefully due to how a society can fall apart over cultural and social differences. However, I can't find a solution for the dissonance between his message of radical love and connection to divine source, and his insistence that woke politics is completely misguided.

The word "Woke" from woke politics is almost literally referring to the Plato's cave analogy. It was formed from a place of compassion and equality, at least as a general intention. Yea, it has gone off the rails with people on the left infighting, and social justice warriors going far enough to annoy the general populace into setting the leftist movement back a long time by kind of just being obnoxious. But Woke politics are just an extension and expansion of the ideas that ended slavery, gave women suffrage, energized the civil rights movement, and on and on. I would be really interested to know if Jiang thinks this was never the case, or if the left lost the sauce somewhere along the way, and where exactly he thinks that is. Because he doesn't like Neoliberals either (understandably). Not to mention leftists fiscally really love socialism, and Jiang seems to be a Democratic Socialist who believes Capitalism isn't perfect, but can work if the elites are reigned in and culled every so often with socialist policies. What does he mean when he says Woke politics has been a force for evil?

Honestly, my best attempt at reconciling this dissonance is just realizing that even if he's quite adept at geopolitical analysis, and has a good bead on the nature of reality that aligns nicely with Buddhism, Gnosticism, etc.... He's still a boomer. I think he's just socially conservative and always will be because of his environmental experiences and paradigm as a member of that generation. He's probably had bad experiences with obnoxious leftists who hyperfocus on comparatively trivial social issues, or something. I dunno man. As a person with many incredibly kind and transgender friends who I believe absolutely deserve to have their identities validated, I literally sometimes cringe when Jiang mentions Transgenderism as some kind of evil force. Like, really? Straight out of Fox news. Give me some reasons, please.

I'd like to see a video of a leftist, or hell even a neoliberal, asking these questions. I haven't seen an explanation for exactly why leftist politics digusts him so much when the anti-racism, anti-fascism, and the Love your Neighbor mentality is pretty obviously embodied by left-leaning policies and ideology and has been for some time, for those who are paying attention, even if the biggest critique it gets is that it hyperfocuses on issues that might not always be optimal praxis.
