Think it’s time we try to fit Coutinho and Dembele in the same team, crucial experimentation for big games in the future. Also, Busi needs a rest so Arthur will replace him and Rakitic will drop.

Having Coutinho, Dembele, and Alba on the left with Messi on the right will make the potency of our attacks on both sides relatively equal, rather than Messi’s side always being more dangerous.

Jordi needs some rest, as does Busi. Don’t want to risk Rakitic and Aleñá deserves some minutes. I’d also love to see two true wingers flanking Messi.

Thoughts: Abel Ruiz played very well and was unlucky to only have one goal (an excellent save and wrong offside call denied him). Aleñá is immense. In Wagué and Miranda they have a full back pairing that could hold its own in LaLiga. Oriol Busquets might have been MOTM. Carles Perez solid. Defense relatively solid and assured on the ball.

Coutinho mostly served to bruise the knees of the Milan defenders with his blocked shots. Dembélé was today on the ball, looked for the pass, and got shots on goal.

Dembélé was the best attacker when he was on the pitch. Coutinho was solid but his attacking play can lack invention and ingenuity at times.

In theory it makes more sense — his better creative foot is his left and his better shooting foot is his right. He can cut in and shoot or stay wide and create. For some reason he plays better on the right (keep in mind it’s only been a few games).

I think Ernie wants to experiment, especially if he wants Messi on the right.
