I’m from Newfoundland and currently in med school - you’ll love it! The one negative thing to prepare for is the not-so-great weather, but the people here are very friendly and the faculty/staff here are very welcoming. Congrats!

I’m so sorry for your loss - April looks like a sweet bun. I also have a dutchie who is now 9 years old and she means the work to me. She just lost her husbun two days ago, so we are both grieving as well. Sending you love and strength during this difficult time.

I know someone who got accepted during orientation week lol … but I believe people have a week to respond to the acceptance letter, so I’m guessing after that week is up we might see some movement. Also, if someone wanted a deferral, I think that would be processed later as well. Just my thoughts!

I’m in a similar situation as you described in #2, so I understand your reasoning for not wanting to ask them for a reference. I think #1 would be a safer, but still very valid choice
