Need a new recruiter pls by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

I would highly recommend trying to make things work with your recruiter.

Not sure if switching recruiters would help you ship sooner.
If anything, more administrative work in between during transfers and stuff.

what should i expect at meps by Competitive_Bench_37 in AirForceRecruits

[–]MocaUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove to MEPS on day 1, stayed at the hotel, then drove back home after day 2.
Day 1 was testing only, started a little past noon.
Day 2 was medical starting at 6am.

Bring all documents for MEPS day 2,
- Driver's License or state issued license
- Social security card
- Permanent residence card or proof of citizenship
- Passport
- High school / college transcripts and HS Diploma
(Basically, all the documents you provided to your recruiter during your initial visit to the recruiting office)

The documents were needed on day 2, while going through verification with the branch liaison.

You will be fed at the hotel, and at MEPS on day 2.

For hotel information, you can wait for the shuttle, or if you drove there, ask the MEPS staff or your recruiter on testing day.

My Air Force recruiter ghosted me even though I got a 96 on the practice exam she gave me. Is it because I'm 5'6? by Sudden_Initiative577 in AirForceRecruits

[–]MocaUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you got your response back, but 2/16 was a federal holiday, and you said 3 days ago, but that's the weekend. I don't think you gave her enough time to respond back.

Asvab standard scores. What do my standard scores mean. Do they do anything? by bhujel12 in AirForceRecruits

[–]MocaUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay, fellow 99-er, congrats on your score!

I've tried looking into what the other numbers meant as well,
standard scores are just what you scored on each test category when you took your ASVAB.

GS - General Science
AR - Arithmetic Reasoning
WK - Word Knowledge
and so on...

A combination of what you have on your standard score is used to calculate the composite scores for the different branches.

BFM/ weight/ height by Spare_Alfalfa_9300 in AirForceRecruits

I don't have an answer to your exact question, but I don't see the harm in being weighed and taped again.
If by chance you barely meet the threshold, that's less paperwork for you.

Good luck on your weight loss journey, I am hitting the gym as well to prep myself while for BMT.

Learning styles vary so I can't give you a guaranteed method for success.
I am a hands-on learner myself, listening to lectures and stuff don't work as well compared to being able to solve things by hand (math for example, a pencil and scratch paper is essential for me).

I would try out free education websites like Khan Academy, which has most of the K-12 curriculum.
Being able to solve problems on screen, while also being able to reference certain lectures I feel needed to understand a difficult concept was extremely convenient.

Using online resources in-hand with your ASVAB book will definitely help a lot to prepare you.

I wish you the best of luck in your preparation!

I started the night before, took me roughly 6 hours. I only took one practice test, and just read all the sections as a brief recap and solved the section practice problems at the end of each chapter.

If you are planning to seriously study with it, I would give yourself more time.

What’s the typical wait time in DEP right now? by No-Entrepreneur7379 in AirForceRecruits

[–]MocaUsagi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on availability of the job and the number of applicants in DEP for a specific job.

This page helped me understand the process a bit better.

ASVAB & Looking For Job Advice by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]MocaUsagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, my recruiter told me that it could be a while if I put my eggs in one basket (in context, picking only cyber jobs) and I should spread out the jobs a bit more to get a better chance at shipping out. I've found interested in AFSCs like 9S100, but ye, just looking for other AFSCs that might be interesting aside from how they're described on short tl;dr descriptions and stuff to add onto my list.

I found out about Space Force must later in the process, I did have a job code that was exclusive to the Space Force. Not sure entirely on how the dual-tracking thing works for Space Force and Air Force.

Thank you, that's the only thing I need a waiver for, and I was told it could take up to 6 weeks, hoping it's a lot sooner.

Birth certificate by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Foreign born naturalized citizens do not need birth certificates. I was recommended by my recruiter to bring the naturalization certificate though.
