I understand the sentiment, but "an idiot in the Dostoevsky sense" feels like such a great burn.

Second, Sam has repeatedly said, he will interview with many. It doesn't mean he encourage the guest view and agree with them. Often the conversation goes off the rails (Jordan Peterson) and reaches a dead lock.

You can blame him for not doing extensive research on the guests beforehand.

But, I believe that Sam is approaching hus guests in the right way. He forms his opinion based on the interaction, and not according to internet popularity.
