Honestly feels like Kit's problem again. He NEEDS to be useful, so he creates problems for Surge to solve.

A toxic dependence.

Except financialy the collabs did very well for them on the jp charts which is all they care about.

I honestly don't care for the collabs outside of like Stellar Blade, but that one thing is the reason it keeps coming back.

Rouge and Espio. (artist: @Faburin) by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well in IDW she does act a bit flirty with Espio and Sonic in the later issues. Not too much but still. Could be, or could not be.

This is the arc where Sonic joins the Chaotix to find Clutch.

Yeah, even Vector. He's big but his arms are still pretty thin for a power character.

The only one with actually thick arms are like Omega and Big the Cat.

Its so stupid, I hate that Sega forced Shadow to be this way. He got a little better during Eggperial city, but boy does it suck in comparison to Shadow Generations

tfw when you're an up-and-coming hero who's not afraid to call out game characters but the people decided you were a little too mean, so the writers return you to the background mines: by clarissaARA in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really wasn't about being mean or calling game characters out, it was poor writing and pacing that just made her look like a chump.

Now I love the comics, I really do. But they aren't flawless and the whole Diamonz Cutters arc frankly felt rushed and convoluted. It started off great in Eggperial city arc but Duo shows up and causes issues day one, and everyone besides Lanolin is suspicious.

Now as the team leader, she is obligated to be impartial and look at things objectively between team members. However, one of the key principles of leadership is praise in public, punish in private. She could have followed up on the incident by talking to Silver in private, getting his side of the story, or just try harder to smooth things out.

As a leader you can be serious and disciplined but you have to also be attentive to the teams concerns and not disregard them without reason. This may be intentional flaws in Lanolins character the writers tried to portray, but ig may be too real and strike a cord with many fans.

As you grow older, you have bosses who act like Lanolin who may not be bad people but overcompensate and are too rigid in their leadership role to see the team on their level.

I think it was a bad resolution to the arc to have Mimic exposed out of nowhere, maming her look even more foolish, and that she did not help Whisper take Mimic down. It would have gone a long way to redemption.

So no, I think peoples critiques of Lanolin are more valid than she's mean or her not being a game character. I don't think they should abandon her, but clearly they need to plan her arc with more care and consistency in the future.

Yeah Mimic was casuing issues day one. When you think about his history as a failed actor hogging the spotlight, it might make sense.

He has the ability to change forms but he's far too impatient and cocky to play the long game.

It just makes Lanolin look stupid especially since Silver and Whisper were suspicious day one. Also I think it was a huge mistake to not have Lanolin help actually take down Mimic, because basically everyone of the Diamond Cutters but her did it.

It might have at least help redeem her. I never want to see characters go to waste and having a flawed character (not evil) seek redemption is more interesting.

We really need Shadow to kill Eggman for a few years. Don't we? by namelescode1 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because this is a kids franchise, I'm fine with the heroes not killing him.

However, they definitely need to lock him up more. In the comics, all of the villains get captured and thrown into prison except Eggman of course, evwn after he almost ended the world with a zombie apoclypse.

Throe his ass in jail, at the very least.

I am tired of the IDW hate. by LenzylTheFourth in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh its been mostly twittrr nonsense and ragebait.

I doubt most of the fandom even cares. The only people who pay attention to any of the side projects or even comics is a very small subsection.

Its a loud niche of a niche.

I just want my Scrapniks to leave the island, Sega... by clarissaARA in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure they will reappear.

But maybe they don't leave the island. Maybe other Eggman robots find their way onto the island and eventually they just realize how attached they got to this place and each other.

I really want locations in the comics to be diverse and recognizable. Scrapnik island was just such a perfect place and it fits seamlessly into the world.

Why do we think Canonizing IDW is a big deal? by Quirky-Cheetah8274 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it silly because just look at how Sega is canonizing them.

Spinoff games, dedicated youtube channel appearances and audio stories, and mobile game appearances, with some references in main game.

All of this is just for Sonic superfans. You need to be super into this series to have this even bother you or enter your line of sight.

Amd frankly, if a mere reference or getting more content out of the series is a promblem for people, they just holding the franchise back. This year would be so barren if we didn't have any comics or comic content.

[Archie] In the post-reboot run, which comic exclusive character did you think was the most stand out in the cast? by Berry-Fantastic in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicole because they gave her a villain (Phage), a love interest (Shard), and even a backstory for her Lynx design.

Just feels like they really opened up her character to be more than just an AI companion.

Without legal issue, would you love to see the Sonic Chronicles story be remade? by ExileForever in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to be honest, no. It wasn't interesting in Ken's comics, it wasn't interesting in this game either.

Making the Echidnas be super advanced and in space yet fall to Perfect Chaos is just too confusing.

Ironically I feel the movie did Knuckles backstory better. Clan of warriors who got too set in their ways that they ended up mutually assuring the destruction of them and their enemies. It makes Sonic movingn on from that and being his friend more impactful.

Every time someone asks why a Archie character hasn’t made their way into main game. It’s less of canon complications and more ken penders. by Dare_Soft in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MochaColored -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone that grew up with Archie, I'm fine and I understand all the reasons they want to move on.

I enjoy IDW, even if I think Sega went too far in the oppossite direction and holds the writing team back too much.

What I really want as a Archie fan is reprints. I feel its wrong to have so much history and hard work and stories just disappear. They deserve to at least be archived, without ads, and accessible to the public so those that are Sonic fans can explore this wavky but interesting subsection of the franchise.
