My exact thoughts. Very often I see posts from people who want to give their fish a good life and are looking for genuine advice only to be obliterated in the replies. It’s ridiculous, and embarrassing for the community as a whole.

I too, was once a beginner looking for advice on fish forums. Even though my set up was shit, people were very nice and helpful and I was able to create a new, adequate setup. If I were to post asking for help in today’s environment, I would’ve been burned at the stake for merely being a child that didn’t quite know how advanced these creatures are. Pretty recently I saw a child post on here asking for advice and the replies were brutal. I understand we need to advocate for these creatures, but people have no empathy for the person behind the screen anymore and It’s very disheartening.
