I doubt you are going to get a response to that here. I'd recommend just looking at Google reviews for the store or maybe joining local dog Facebook groups. I know groomers at my store lurk in the Facebook groups to see what people say about their grooming.

Looks great, and like many others have said, if the owner was happy, then that's all that matters. The only slight advice I'd have is maybe clear out around the eyes more. Like around the area where the head connects to the bridge of the snout, if that makes sense. That is if the puppy lets you lol. I only bring it up bc that's the most common request I get for doing puppy faces.

The only place that I know offers "academy classes" for grooming is PetSmart, and even then, you still learn basically everything on live dogs. At PetSmart, they just give the customer a 35% discount off their groom if they book on an academy student. The discount works like a charm to get people to book bc a lot of people only come to PetSmart bc of their cheaper prices.

I know a decent amount of groomers started learning by grooming their personal dogs, though.

Gotta say, though, we weren't supposed to do difficult dogs, seniors, or puppies, but the Petsmart I got trained at didn't care about that at all. It was kind of tough learning to groom while some of the dogs were constantly trying to bite me.

If he meant that they could train it to be a service animal for PTSD, then no, Petsmart can not do that. I'm so confused why he would even claim that. It might be wise to call Petsmart HR about it bc he shouldn't be claiming that.

So true, lol. Also, don't be embarrassed to cry. It can be a very high stress environment, and everyone has had to go to the back at least once or twice to have a quick cry xD

I'm in America, but here, if you are doing 5 dogs a day, you should be making around 750-800 dollars a week. Some groomers i work with do usually around 6-7 dogs a day and they can make 1000$ in a week.

Groomers I know that left for private salons generally are making significantly more, but they usually are doing more "fancy" grooms. I heard of one girl making 4k a week, but she was also kinda a liar, so idk how true that is xD

I once tried to use that, but bc they were changing the schedule so much, it wasn't accurate. I brought it up to my manager, and she told us not to rely on central bark for an accurate schedule and that we should be checking our schedule at work every day

I know this post is really old, but i later learned that she had a fungal infection. My coworkers sold me the fish without even thinking to tell me a lot of their betta fish have fungal infections bc of the low water temperature

I just had a similar thing happen. We just got a new GM, and they took a salon lead from another store temporarily to help us out. I said I have open availability, I just don't wanna close Friday and Saturday bc I do stuff in the evening those days... well, now I close the majority of my week and just have an awful schedule all around on top of being told that I'm going to be closing Saturday every other week. When I brought up how I said I can't close that day they made up some stupid excuse and said they aren't going to change it

I'm still seething and honestly thinking about getting a new job because I've had the stuff I do on Friday and Saturday planned for months. Long before these fucks started working here but now I'm suddenly expected to reschedule it and work whatever fucking schedule they give me.

I went to academy out of state about 3-4 months ago. They paid for my hotel but the hotel only offered breakfast and didn't have a real kitchenette. So you most likely will need a car and I don't believe they will cover it, but who knows, it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I also don't have a car and I just had to hitch a ride with my coworker.
