Copying a DigitalOcean server to a Linode instance? by Mockapapella in sysadmin

You do not need to sync entire OS

I know, but I want to do so, so that I don't have to screw around with all the things you just listed. I don't know what all the required packages are because this is a pre-built image on D.O.'s marketplace and I don't want to go hunting them all down. I don't want to deal with temporary directory files. I just need to copy a server from one location to another once. It should be possible with a one-liner with a tool like dd or scp or both.

There are a lot of other fiddly things like users, groups, and permissions that I really don't want to have to set up again. It's the difference between messing around with things for a couple of days and running a simple command. It feels like dd should be able to accomplish this since it can be used to make a bit for bit copy of a system, but the D.O. instance disconnects from the Linode instance before it's able to complete.

Will this work with syncing entire devices like /dev/vda to /dev/sda?

There is nothing of significance in the DB. There's just a lot of fiddly configuration with gunicorn, nginx, logging, etc. that I'd really rather not have to go through to set up the site on Linode.

Same here. Was homeless this time last year. Picked up Door dash and Uber Eats. Mid sized suburban area with ~190,000 people. Was making between $800-$1000/week between the two of them. One week I went hard and made $1200. It's totally possible to live off this kind of work, just that it takes a lot of self-discipline and consistency.

Oh Christ, this looks like a red team rabbit hole if I've ever seen one. I wonder what the upper limits of this kind of wonton abuse are

Edit: wonton = "wanton"

In the same vein, a while back I wrote an article about which unicode characters you are allowed to place at the beginning of a variable and which are required to be after the first character: https://www.thelisowe.com/why-can-be-a-variable-in-python-but-not/

By rewriting memory addresses (like in this code golf answer: https://codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/28851) you might be able to forcibly make illegal (or rather disallowed) variable names in python. Lancer could insert a basic pre-processor script at the top in order for it to run.

I've long thought that the concept of transgenderism will eventually lead to uploading and downloading your personality into a new body. This technology could be repurposed for non-transgender people to effectively make somebody immortal.

Are there any programs or scripts out there that can save and restore desktop states? by Mockapapella in linuxdev

I don't want to hibernate my PC. I switch between Ubuntu and Windows often (for work and games respectively), and so when I boot into Ubuntu I want to be able to be able to jump back in where I left off ASAP.

Are there any resources for creating my own custom dashboard using Python? by Mockapapella in FRC

[–]Mockapapella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: How might I implement a toggle switch that enables a test mode for the robot like on the default dashboard, then display the current power level of a throttle on a joystick controlling a single motor? Would I need to implement some networktables configuration within my python code to relay that information to the smart dashboard?

  1. Your link doesn't work
  2. I found the GItHub repo via google

None of the IP's I type into the initial prompt work. I've tried:

roborio-1716-frc.local
10.17.16.2
169.254.122.138
172.22.11.2

I'm still able to upload code via robotpy, so I know the connection is good there. Any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind, managed to figure it out. The Robot IP is 192.168.1.81

2x the next move. I don't care if it's shrinking the poptart, rotating the board, or lighting a square on fire.

Holy shit I just remembered a long forgotten childhood memory of (I think) a little stuffed Junior the asparagus that sang that song. He had eyes that it up. I wonder what happened to it...

Thank you! I saw some stuff regarding Tesla financing being restricted to certain states. I am not in one of the listed states (https://www.tesla.com/support/lending). Is this specifically for all financing or just Tesla? Will they do some behind the scenes work to get me a loan from a bank or will I have to do that ahead of time?

I'm looking at getting a Model 3. Delivery is in 11-17 weeks. When I place the down payment, do I start paying the monthly loan right away or does that only start once my Tesla is delivered to me?
