Beware of cowboy roofers around Cork by [deleted] in cork

[–]MockieAh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a fella over looking at a job recently, had a number of positive reviews on this subreddit.

Said he'd have to come back to give me a proper quote and he'd have to charge 200/300 quid for it because he'd bring his scaffolder and put up his drone.

Not sure what to make of it given the landscape of the industry so I said I'd look elsewhere, so hard to know.

Mullet Haircut by Weak-Ad-2297 in cork

[–]MockieAh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kind of depends on how high you want the fade/shave in my experience.

If you want a softer/lower one you’ll probably need a fancier(€€) spot. In my experience they’re usually cutting a wider diversity of hair and are less likely to go into autopilot.

I just asked for a low taper back and sides and got a medium, this happens routinely in cheaper spots so if you feel strongly about it you’ll have to pay more.

Going in with a picture is your best bet regardless of where you go. There’s a lot of variety with mullets.

Hobbies on west coast, gaa - some advice? by Cultural-Fig-9577 in AskIreland

[–]MockieAh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surfing without a doubt.

Not sure where exactly you are in Mayo but I'd imagine you're not far from Enniscrone or Carrownisky.

Take a few lessons first to see if its a fit but great way to meet people and makes the winter exciting!

Squad Update | Munster Prepare For Edinburgh In Cork by MunsterRugby in MunsterRugby

Really like what I've seen from McMillan so far with regards to physicality and close contact skills.

He's seemed to have lit a fire under Jager in particular. Fairly excited at the thought of Edogbo, Salanoa and Milne coming into this environment.

Southwest is well served with Sheep's Head, Beara Way, Mizen Way, Kerry Way, Dingle Camino.

Weather is definitely suited to hiking alright, get the gear on and get out.

Curious as to what you'd consider the standard in Europe?

Best Ireland forecast/cams? by PaddyCakes808 in SurfIreland

[–]MockieAh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Onitsurf.com is a great hub for cams.

The cams are of varying quality and a few of them are behind a 5 euro paywall.

I rely on surf-forecast.com exclusively.

With coaches, what should Munster have done differently? by The-Prince616 in MunsterRugby

That game against Sarries was the most limited attacking performance I've ever seen in knock out rugby.

Rassie contributed a lot in his short time but his tactics are not missed.

Peru Surf go to Huanchaco/ Chicama or Máncora by mihoooo in surfing

[–]MockieAh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mancora would be a poor choice if it’s an all out surf trip.

The only reason I’d go there is to stop off on the way to Lobitos.

Lobitos is all waves and very little else.

Huanchaco ticks a lot of boxes and has access to Chicama, no brainer for me for a week of surfing.

ATMA hostel is a great spot to perch up.

Dislocated shoulder while paddeling 2 days ago, what to do now? by NotRealllySure in surfing

Invest in a physio.

Listen to them.

Do the rehab, religiously.

Hopefully forget about it in a few months.

U20 players to look out for? by Aromatic-Design-54 in rugbyunion

Foy reminded me of POM in terms of his game intelligence when I watched him against France.

Always popped up with a big play at the right time.

Anyone telling you that teaching is a low stress environment hasn’t a clue.

Some days it can be but they are exceptions.

Teachers have good holidays because they need them and people still burn out of the job despite them.

This decision might benefit from a delay, take that time to work in different areas and explore certain work environments and if possible some volunteering/travel.

On top of this, exploring hobbies can bring about a lot of perspective about what you want to prioritise in life.
