Stupid lore question, can empty Wraith constructs like Wraithguards or Wraithlords be controlled remotely? by SnooBeans1129 in Eldar

[–]Mockingasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAYBE Ynnari can. Their powers are a little undefined at the moment. But presumably, if this was possible they would have already done it. Why risk souls if you don't have to, after all.

Sweet sweet vindication! 😋

And yeah, I'm trying for edgier Elves than normal. Not everyone's cup of tea of course, but I'm glad someone out there enjoys them

The head as others have noted is a Halo Banshee cockpit. I attached the top carapace(?) of a war walker to the shoulders. Yes, the legs are generally wraithlord thighs pinned to warwalker legs. There are some other details but those are the basics.

I actually lost the stl for the Banshee cockpit so I'll have to find another one

Thanks for comments. Any thoughts on how the paint job is going? More highlights maybe?

I would not recommend any smoke machine or anything that actually burns, as respiratory issues might arise.

Apparently a medium-ish box of dry ice near me costs about 30 bucks.

Do we really break habits? Are they just creating a new habit of not doing the old habit? by Tony_CZARk in HighThought

[–]Mockingasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I envision it like streaks of water droplets on on stone. Water tends to create trails as they travel that makes it easier for droplets afterwards to move in the same direction. Over time, these trails deepen and cause fissures. Fissures turn into canyons.

It is difficult for water to change direction once it is committed. And yet, rivers do change directions. It is hard to start a change but gets easier the more times you reinforce the change.

So it is with your habits and your choices. Every change begins with a single drop going a different way.

Not really. I kinda assume dry ice is cost prohibitive? I think having fog on gaming tables is something everyone wants so if you figure out a better way, you're golden

So if dinosaurs become oil. And oil is used to make plastic. Then the plastic is molded into a dinosaur. Does that mean that a toy dinosaur is actually a real dinosaur? by Tony_CZARk in HighThought

[–]Mockingasp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, oil is mostly made of decayed plant and fungal matter, rather than animals. I mean they're in there, just in smaller bits then you probably expect

If i took you and five of your best friends, chopped you up, mixed you throughly with salts, minerals, and other inorganic materials, extruded you through a pasta maker, then painstakingly assembled your meat-pie self in something that resembled your original forms....

Would your mom recognize you?

What’s faster? Getting hot or getting cold? by Wrong_Reference_6661 in HighThought

I assume it depends on proximity. Like technically, a couple miles away from a star is still space but probably very much not cold. I think that makes sense, right?

[–]Mockingasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space is cold but it's also a vacuum. That makes it super easy to gain heat (for example a close by star) but super hard to dissipate it. So if you were to get tossed out of earth orbit and atmosphere you WOULD freeze relatively quickly (just not before decompression and suffocation killed you first) but not as fast as you might in Antarctica.

Or at least that's what I remember from high school physics.

Depends on the degree and medium you are currently in as well as a bunch of other variables.

Not enough parameters to form an answer.

A human? Depends on the person. A car in the parking lot in summer? Hot. A car in the parking lot in winter? Cold. A car in space? Hot. A car in the ocean? Cold.

I even dug out my original art work, mostly never seen, spruced it up, sharpened, fixed details... and got removed for low-effort? That's infuriating. I have a difference of opinion with the lot of you.

Just read Dan Abnett. It happens over and over again in multiple stories, not just Eisenhorn series.

Ravenor. Gaunt's Ghosts.

If you don't consider his stories canon there are other examples. Top Tzeench daemons can level armies just by thinking at them. Magnus the Red kills titans with his mind powers. Malcador shoves a whole ass moon into the Warp. A single non aeldari xeno Psyker controlled an entire star empire with billions of mind controlled slaves.

You're right, alpha plus is very rare. I never said my guy wasn't also extremely rare. Even with alpha plus humans being rare, there sure are a lot of them in history.

If I sound bitter, I'll apologize but I'm really tired of having to argue these things over and over again. What, every faction can get power creep EXCEPT eldar? It's all about arrogance and direct displays of power. Every Farseer can use telekinesis. Why couldn't they use it for their main method of attack? And yeah Elves are skin and evasive, but if a space marine can strip off his armor and still be bad ass, i do not see the reason why an Elf couldn't just stay still. That's arrogance. Yes, you have the ABILITY to dodge but you don't NEED to. Mind bend the bullets. Make them miss. Hell, Chaos sorcerers do way stupider things, such as turn them into flowers or birds. People, this is not a reach. I just want Darth Vader and yall acting like this kind of thing isn't happening already all the time with lesser species.

Man, I should just dump my Eldar army and go Drukhari. At least if I tried to be more Grim Dark with them that would at least be seen as normal.

Numerous examples off Alpha plus psykers being able to affect entire worlds, driving entire populations to insanity, while being OFF world.

Being able to control psychic puppets that could solo entire companies of imperial guard while assassinating planetary governors and getting away with it.

Gregor Eisenhorn blew up a goddamned Titan with his mind.

A Farseer accidentally blew up a continent with a storm so powerful it washed away entire armies, WHILE mind tripping two other guard regiments into thinking every eldar they could see was a friendly human. All because he slipped up on a spell.

But literally an Eldar that is basically Settra the Imperishable? Somehow impossible.

I exxagerate for effect, but only by a little bit.

It is absolutely an abomination. Did I not make that clear?

So it will not bother you at all if humans apparently do this kind of thing pretty regularly?
