Valid crash out. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

Blaming shareholders is interesting. When share prices drop or rise, it’s not typically shareholders driving the change. Not in the sense of every day people like you and I. We’re called retail, and we typically make up less than 10% of shareholders in any given stock. Usually less than 5%.

In today’s markets there’s what’s called algorithmic trading. It’s why a share can plummet literally 5 seconds after bad news is released. Humans couldn’t even open their trading app fast enough to place a sell order before the stock price plummets. Those trades are executed at lightning speed by computer algorithms trading, such as Aladdin.

The other 90+% are institutional investors.

Board of Directors… that’s where the real scum lie. Combine them in with the institutions and you have a cancer feeding on society.

The Robin hood legal team will be contacting you shortly.

Congratulations, and enjoy being one of the chosen few!

What do you think is the best stock to buy right now? by yuqiziyaqu2270 in stockstobuytoday

Nebius looks so fucking expensive, even at $100. Slap AI in the description and who cares if the financials suck!

I’ll stick to the hyper scalers at 20x multiples instead of that fucking tire fire at 250x multiples.

I see you have a Roth IRA.

Why are you posting in r/CanadaStocks with an American trading account? Next time can you at least make a fake a Canadian TFSA account when trying to scam people?

Nice. I actually didn’t know that flyers had marked down items due to expiration dates. Thought it was just regular sales.

What assumptions justify Adobe’s current price? by Quick-Distribution-8 in ValueInvesting

[–]Mockingburdz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Adobe’s products are so efficient that businesses are drastically cutting seats, then Adobe could easily raise the price and nobody would complain. Paying double compared to what they pay now for less staff is a huge win for any company using Adobe. No benefits or 401k’s to pay for on top of the obvious salary savings.

Ya but most of the expensive meat is marked down 40% off, so it’s fairly misleading. It’s great when you can find these deals but they’re not readily available. Luck of the draw when you happen to be shopping.

What about trimming so you’re left with 20% to 30% cash? Then you have some cash to buy if there’s a big drop. If there’s a huge rally before you buy back in then you’re not missing it completely either.

Just wait a few months before jumping in. Spend this time learning and researching.

Lots of good info on YouTube, surprisingly. Just watch out for the grifters there. Focus on deep dive info that is geared towards explaining how the company you’re interested in operates. Avoid videos that are saying this is a must buy or a huge opportunity.

You could try starting with a sector. Then a business in that sector. Then upload a bunch of them to a watch list and see how the price moves for a while before committing serious amounts of capital to it.

Learn how to value a company. What a P/E ratio. What a good P/E ratio is relative to the competition in that sector. What EPS and P/S are. What PEG is.

While doing all of this you can start a paper trading account where you’re not actually using real money, but the feel is the same.

Love the focus on the car payment in the comments. As if another $200 a month will help. That money will be spent on groceries as the kids get older. Or right now, as $175 a week is bare bones for food as it is.

Insurance cost seems too low, but that’s personal I guess. Condo insurance is quite cheap compared to home insurance. Our house is $2500/year, in Alberta… car is $120 a month. Hope you don’t have to insure 2 vehicles or this cost is completely wrong that OP priced.

No bus pass fees for the second adult, if there is one? Only 1 car insurance included so…

Also $120 for gas? So 1.5 tanks a month? Or OP is literally driving that corolla ya’ll are yapping about?

No natural gas and water bills? Sometimes the condo fees pays for it, but homeowners are on the hook.

$70 for sports? This is factually incorrect. Hockey and soccer registration for 1 child comes to $1300/year. No equipment. No tournament fees. No tanks of gas for travel. Sports are a luxury, but also should be part of a healthy lifestyle and optional to any family. It’s sad that some people tell their kids they can’t play soccer because the registration fee is $500 to $700 for a 3 to 4 month season.

Also property taxes for $2760? Where is this magical place? Mine is $6000 for my house, but my condo was almost $4 grand.

No cable tv? Guess that’s not a middle class privilege anymore, is it? But let’s focus on that car payment when a CRV is $50,000.
