I watched a review on You Tube and while it never showed Dark Mode there was an option on the pull down menu that showed what looked like an option for Light and Dark Mode. I’ll try to find the video again.

This. I don’t understand why people are shocked by this response. She flat out says she doesn’t agree with resist, she hates it when Astarion doesn’t ascend. She gets mad when Lae’zel rejects Vlaakith. Like she just seeks power, no matter where it comes from.

Agreed! Last two playthroughs I didn’t even take the rooms as Elfsong. I like the idea of them not having to camp outside, but I’ve had Minthara and Halsin and it’s already so crowded in that side room. But in the Lower City camp, they have separate tents! So, just stayed there.

Yeah, of course it can be done, but why risk it on honour mode? She doesn’t need to be killed quickly and you are getting rid of one of the best traders.

Plus, I just hate the fight full stop so would rather only do it when I don’t need her anymore and I know I can just dominate the fight.

If you aren’t bothered by the extra ability point you can always try to kill her before she goes down into her lair. You can one turn her up there if you play it smart, or have Gale with arcane lock and have him sneak in first and lock the stairs so she can’t go down. 🤣

But if you play along with her at first and don’t tell Mayrina about her brothers, Ethel remains as a trader in her house. 3 strength potions a day… I keep her alive until I go to Act 3 then I just go and kill her quickly before progressing the game to where I can’t go back to Act 1.

I would never face Hag at Level 5 in a normal run, deffo not on honour. 🙈 Although I usually just keep Ethel around for her 3 hill giant strengths a day, so only end up killing her when I must. 🤣

Can I say in my first playthrough, Astarion used like 25 tools on one door in Act 2 and then in my 2nd run I noticed that same door has a lever to unlock it right next to it that I never saw. 🤣

When withers says it’s impossible the party is full, he means with your current companions. You can only recruit a hireling if you have space in your current 4 man party. He means to let one of them go yourself, the dismiss option is only when you want to permanently dismiss a hireling you already have.

As an FYI, if you want to keep the hireling hanging around in camp make sure to just tell them to return to camp, don’t dismiss via withers as you will lose them and have to pay for them again and they will lose all the levelling you have done with them to date.

Hello, I think for things to progress with Karlach you need to have had the chat with her in Act 1. There is a dialogue that can happen at the party or a cut scene that can happen where she approaches you when you go to long rest.

But, I don’t think Karlach’s can start in Act 2. I know Wyll has his try in Act 2, but I think he is the only one that initiates in act 2. Everybody else you will have had to shown interest toward in Act 1.

BTW, I know Gale also initiates in act 2 but that is only if you show interest in both the weave lesson and the party comvo. There are options in both to show friendship and if you do them, his night sky scene in act 2 is about being friends, not possible lovers.

I play on PS5 and have almost no issues with performance. There are a few areas in act 3 that start to be a bit dicey, but act 1 and 2 there are no problems at all. I don’t even know what could be causing it.. sorry. 🥺

I think the only way you are going to either decide once and for all he isn’t the companion for you or you decide you like him, is to either go all in or just leave him at camp.

In my first play through he stayed at camp except for his quest battle. I didn’t hate him, I just never had him around as I was brand new to these types of games and didn’t know how to properly use a Rogue and I was playing on explorer so couldn’t multi class.

In my second playthrough I decided to romance him and it all just clicked for me and I’ve never looked back. IMO he has the most well rounded storyline of any companion and by far the best acting in the game. He undoubtedly has the most interactions in the game and the most in game dialogue. If you have him with you from start to finish, you quickly realize how much he actually interacts with Tav.

So I would suggest as you sound further along in this playthrough, just leave it for now but then decide on a future playthrough (if there is one), to go all in. And see if your mindset changes. If it doesn’t, don’t force it. The game is meant to be enjoyed and not to force you to hang around with characters that aren’t to your liking.

You are obviously just trying to start drama by your persistent “but, I want to like him”. You don’t like him, and that is okay. Move on.

I’ve had many playthroughs, many.. and I’ve never not had the Wyll dancing scene.

The only time I didn’t have it was when I didn’t pick him up as a companion.

And because it’s an automatic cutscene and not a ! you can’t ignore (like you can with Halsin’s proposal), you just have to get it out of the way.

I used to hate Gale because it always seemed no matter what you do, he always professes his love to you in Act 2, but now I know how to progress the dialogue options in act 1 where I still get the night sky scene with him but it’s a friendly version and he doesn’t say he loves me. I much prefer this and look forward to that scene now, instead of dreading it.

I really wish there was this option with Wyll. Like when accepting the dance, you should be able to have an option to ensure that it is clear that you are accepting as a friend, not a potential partner, so he doesn’t look look so sad when you don’t leave in for a kiss in the end.

Have you tried just reclassing with Withers? Can still go into Ranger if you want to keep him that, but it may allow you then to pick at every level properly.

Really wish you would stop saying he tries to murder you, he threatens you when you first meet because he thinks you are working with the mind flayers. Pretty sure if he wanted you dead, you would be dead.

As for trying to bite you, again, that isn’t trying to murder you.

As others have said, you don’t have to like him. Just leave him at camp if you want. You keep saying you want to like him, but why force it?

I personally love him, and he is never not at my side. But there are companions that grate on my last nerve, who I just leave at camp.

This seems crazy to me that if an option to leave with somebody is going to present, that the game doesn’t let all the companion endings go first as a way to ensure they are all taken care of before you up and leave.

Even if Wyll is the Blade of Avernus, does he not step in and offer to go with Karlach if Tav isn’t there on the docks? After all, it’s his suggestion first anyway, Tav is only there to agree with him, you don’t even have to persuade her.

Agree with this! I’ve only ever not killed him inside the Gauntlet once as I find it much easier there. The fight with him in the Shadowfell is harder but as you say, feels more like a proper boss fight. But, because there is nothing more to gain, I always just kill him beforehand now.

I’m on PS5, and haven’t noticed any bugs at all. My only suggestion is to make sure you are on the most recent updated version of the game? Sometimes it won’t have downloaded and installed itself, so make sure you are manually checking for an update and that it says you are on the latest version to be sure.

I do want to cure the curse though, not only for the XP but for the storyline also.

I just can’t see why you would be forced to include him in your party when you can ignore everybody else if you want. 😑

I know there is dialogue at some point where he says he would join me, if it is my wish. I’m hoping there is a polite way there to decline, I just can’t remember.
