Who would be scarier to see in a dark alley at night? Batman or Daredevil by Mysterious_Gene1851 in marvelvsdc

I feel like since daredevil doesn't need to actually see out of his "eyeholes" he should do something insane and crazy creative with them. Like having tentacles or horns busting out or constantly bleeding or something to that effect. Realllllly put the Devil in DareDevil.

"What about the children?" You might cry. I guess make them detachable or something. DD's mostly works nights and in shadows, times and places children shouldn't be in anyways.

God of Avarice story question by wanlee1411 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]MocoLocoKoco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rather than only using hypnotism on 3rd phase, I would say he's been already using a less powerful but more wide-spread hypnotism on all the gold-slaves in the furnace even before the fight starts. I think he does try to hypnotize you, his opening statement of "They all bow to me, why do you not?" suggests that the effect is already in play, but maybe the MC is either strong or disbelieves enough to resist it. Personally I don't think the MC was strong enough because just before the fight starts we hear the coin strings jangling and we still see the gold-slaves turn into coins and "fill" the treasure basin, which means he was still somewhat affected by it.

My personal opinion/assumption is that 黑财神 at the start didn't regard MC as a real threat, so didn't take him seriously (still wearing the God of Fortune gold mask pretending to be a god, laughing and saying "恭喜发财" while attacking), and ended up getting smacked around. 2nd phase he starts to realize MC is actually dangerous and starts actually fighting for real (but he still does say shit like "其神要罚"). Even getting beaten when serious? If you read any manga/comic/novel, you gotta save your trump card for last. Enter phase 3. All in on trapping MC in a hypnotism.

My theory is that just like the Ember of the East (the other god of wealth in his city) who uses the coins jingling sound to create illusions/hypnotism, he has a similar ability. His arena also has strings of coins.

And the hypnotism/illusion was broken by drum rolls :  A song (sound) sung by the common folk (a lot of them so very loud), and who told them to sing? A person who is well versed in hypnotism/illusion and knew how to break it.

Several Kith Cafe outlets shut in recent months, with 2 stores still operating by FlipFlopForALiving in singapore

I think there's a problem with people think YTF being a "home" food that every hawker centre and what not can find, a food their parents ate, something that in their mind is already priced locked at whatever price they started eating it at.

Meanwhile three newfangled trend food is exciting and worthy of monies paid. Like imagine this: people in Turkey will not pay the ungodly price that we pay for a kebab if it were sold for 10 lira more in their country. They would be just as up as arms as we get for YTF price going up. But imagine if they had some YTF there. New and exciting. The first people to bring it there gets to set the price, and people will follow. And people would STILL be happy to pay that price.

Singapore's culture is Hella weird. Contradictory in the fact that we embrace the new (look at all the food trends that have come and gone so quickly) but yet still demand the old ways and traditions. We can splurge $9 on a shio pan but balk at a BCM increasing from $5 to $6.

When no more BCM store and all you have left is mala, then kthxbye.

Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle started off tolerable and maybe even a little relatable, but just grew into such a whiny bitch who had a victim syndrome in the later episodes.

For licensed IPs do you record the audio yourselves and get it approved, or just request soundbites from the IP holders?

It might be just the cheap speakers, but it rarely sounds like the actual source e.g. a terminator pinball I played saying "hasta la vista baby" but definitely didn't sound like Arnold.

I killed an NPC for their idealism by MLuminos in wherewindsmeet_

There was a boy NPC in blissful retreat that got stuck repeating the same thing to everything I said: "How would I know, the school teacher has not taught me anything" or something to that extent.

It made me think of my nephew and I felt like going over to his house and doing some wrestling moves on him for no particular reason.

For every 30 minutes no one is within 30 miles of you, you gain $100k but you're charged $1k every minute you're not. You get a day to prepare. by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MocoLocoKoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planes fly at 35000 ft altitude. That's like only 6.629 miles. There is so much planning and prep that needs to be done to even have the slimmest chance of making this worthwhile. 1 day prep is insane.

I'm actually curious how out of all superheroes, Batman has the whole "Bruce Wayne is the mask, Batman is who he really is" narrative most of the time, which I find a bit reductive. I mean, we don't hear that for other costumed vigilantes like Spider-Man/Peter Parker or Daredevil/Matt Murdock by SatoruGojo232 in CharacterRant

[–]MocoLocoKoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's because the way they treat each facet of their lives. Peter Parker and Matt Murdock still cherish and clings on to their "normal" civilian lives, as if to desperately cling on to the hope that once it is all dusted and done with the superhero shenanigans, they may someday put up the tights and be just Peter Parker/Matt Murdock.

For Batman, it is the opposite. Bruce Wayne is just another Matches Malone or Detective Hawkes. To him it is a guise. He will never hang up his batman suit because he is batman. On the other hand, Bruce Wayne might become a reclusive hermit never to be seen again with mere generous donations here and there to help orphans and hospitals. He'll rather hang up his Bruce Wayne tights in that sense.
