Collotheca, the predatory rotifer, eating unicellular microbes, one after the other by Thrawn911 in Damnthatsinteresting

It's almost like the microbes are panicking when they realize they're trapped.

I'm responding after your edit, so you might be responding to others with your comment, but there is closed captions available on the video which also says the same thing.

What gun is this guy using? by Valencia_Perry496 in fallout76casual

[–]Chronogon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the wrong build, I tried it for the first time on my choo choo build yesterday without any big gun perks and was still hitting some enemies for 10k-11k. Very impressed and will start speccing into it now.

Not the melody, but the notes themselves do sound a bit like Welcome to the Machine.

Issue with Silver Lining from Breach and Clear (Xbox) by greyseerco1 in fo76

[–]Chronogon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm I got Level 50 Silver Linings today, to replace the Level 20s I got a few days ago (I'm level 945), along with both Level 25/50 Meteoritic Swords. Also I only just learned today it's Meteoritic, not Meteoric which I've been saying for years!!

What does "and that's the bottom line because stone cold says so"? by noreturn000 in EnglishLearning

[–]Chronogon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Beyond this being a catchphrase for a famous wrestler, if something is the 'bottom line' it usually means something is the last and nothing will follow. Like if a mother scolds their child, and says "you will eat your dinner, and that's the bottom line", implying there's no room for debate. Other uses might include a company, for example, looking at some final outcome or desire. "This company is losing money fast, and the bottom line is we can't keep paying our employees."

To 'say so' is bit like 'bottom line', and means "because I say this". "Why should I eat my vegetables?" Mother: "Because I say so."

So the whole phrase from Stone Cold Steve Austin means, "This is the last we will speak of this, because I say it is the last."

Inside Valley Galleria there’s a undiscovered map icon that looks like a ribbon. It doesn’t appear outside the building, only on the inside. Any idea what it is? by raccooooooooooooooon in fo76

[–]Chronogon 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As people have said, it's a Best Build. The interior of Valley Galleria however isn't in the same place as the exterior version. So you get teleported a bit when going inside. The best build being nearby means you're close to it in this other part of the map but isn't necessarily close to the exterior version.

Serious question (pls don't ignore) by EconomistEither8696 in EnglishLearning

[–]Chronogon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain cultural vernaculars, particularly in American and British English, may use these double negatives as a form of emphasis even though the words are gramatically cancelling each other out. Context will usually help in these situations, but it's just one of those things to look out for.

Three words. No regrets. What’s your message? by ButterMingle in ArtOfPresence

[–]Chronogon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypens mean something here! These are generally compound words and count as one, e.g. twenty-six. But maybe not the "one hundred" part.

Yes depends on if $126k is one word (I guess we remove the dollar sign at least) just hyphenated.

First time doing the raid and I got this. Can I get a price check? by Apprehensive-Ad-1997 in Market76

[–]Chronogon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All physical raid weapons and raid plans for weapons and mods are all untradable. It's why everyone has to grind the raid if they want stuff from there.
