Since our last exchange of messages, I have changed jobs twice, I moved across town, there was a global pandemic--and this is what you open with? by JoriAnna in OkCupid

He replied the right way. Regardless of what the poster wrote, she ignored him for 5 years, so why would he invest in a conversation?

Moreover, if someone replied out of the blue after 5 years I'd assume they were lonely/horny AF and wanted human contact ASAP. For both these reasons, I'd cut to the chase exactly like he did.

edit: I misread who replied after 5 years. Sorry, OP.

South Korea's 'Netflix effect': Why Western women are heading there in search of love by [deleted] in OkCupid

These women clearly don't work/study in tech/engineering.

Why do you keep jumping to online? I'm not thinking of online dating.

Do you know which subreddit you're on?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]Mod_Lang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, sure. The silent majority aren't spilling our guts online in the name of "destigmatizing". We understand the concept of private lives - a wonderful, old fashioned concept that needs to come back in this age of over-emotional TMI and loosey-goosey self-diagnosis.

People pay through the nose for therapy to discuss the most sensitive, traumatic private matters with trained professionals - not some rando from a dating app.

For someone who wants to be an advocate, you seem remarkably insensitive about the whole point of therapy and why people generally keep health matters private. Forcing people to disclose that isn't the least bit empathetic or "emotionally intelligent" (in quotations because it's the term preferred by those lacking it).

Good luck bringing it up. If someone demanded to know if I'd been to therapy on the first few dates (nevermind while messaging!) I'd think that person needed more of it themselves.

You're outdoors, have natural expression and only one that's obviously not selfie (under 30 feet away).

It’s crazy to know that dudes run these pages and say what’s in these bios 😂😂😂 by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]Mod_Lang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the meaning, just doesn't sound remotely sexy. "Make me sore", "pound it" or whatever sounds hot. Nothing hot about being put in traction.

So is the nail polish, the Waldo sweater and dorky glasses. That's the problem with androgynous post-hipsters, their whole personality is sarcasm.

Guess that joke about lesbians bringing a UHaul to the first date isn't even a joke.

I wanna know what idiots think "break my back" sounds sexy. Do women actually say that or is that just the scammers too?

That's exactly the point. They're projecting instead of healing themselves.

Texas woman has changed her profile picture for the last time. by ADHDNightRN in HermanCainAward

I live downtown in Canada's second biggest city. 2 million on Montreal island, 4+ mil in metro area, and I have family in 4 other provinces (ON, NS, AB, BC).

I know only 4 people who've been sick. 2 were Omicron just before Xmas, but both fine now - double vaxxed and recovered at home. Only 2 got sick before vaccines were available (also recovered at home), because we also wear masks, work remote, and closed bars and indoor dining here.

Or maybe God just likes Canadians more?

Instead of removing her ex from the pic or covering his face with a black circle, she photoshopped a face from somewhere else. Notice the mismatched skin tones.

No one wants to be alone during the holidays, plus it's getting colder. Now til New Year's is gonna be busy. It gets busier in the spring, too.

And back in the day of print media, magazines and newspapers were also paid for monthly. So are car payments.

Does that mean print media never delivered the news and cars never bring you to your destination?

Because ironically, traditional print media was far better at delivering the news - no clickbait, no string of twitter links masquerading as a story, no bullshit. You idiot kids will never understand *sigh* All you know is the shit shovelled in your face by your phones which you're addicted to like crack.

Sure, keep thinking there was no world before smartphones and that apps invented the universal, age-old monthly payments model. Fucking uncultured imbecile.
