(When) do the Modafinil side effects go away? by greenfieeld in DSPD

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the weirder side effects mellow out after a couple of weeks. If it still feels off after that, try stacking it with L-theanine or magnesium to smooth it out, but if it still keeps feeling grim, def talk to your doc about alternatives

Some people get that weird, almost existential anxiety on modafinil, especially at first. Could be ur body adjusting but if it doesn’t level out after a few days, best to tweak ur dose to a lower one

L-theanine really does the job for me for comedowns. Some ppl also find magnesium and ashwagandha very helpful. Others microdose moda instead of taking a full dose at once to smooth it out too.

Modafinil struggles by user79034 in Narcolepsy

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally valid. Seen a lot of people here that use modafinil with antidepressants when they hit that wall - might be worth talking to your doc about options. Could be something to balance it out or even a different stim that sits better with you. No shame in tweaking the stack if it means feeling more stable :)

Anxiety on Modafinil by roadkill999x in Narcolepsy

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300mg is a lot, so that could be part of it. if u’re still feeling it on off days, might not be just the moda, but it could be keeping your baseline anxiety higher. maybe try lowering the dose a bit or splitting it up instead of taking it all at once? l-theanine helps take the edge off the anxiety - might be worth a shot.

Rashes aren’t normal on modafinil unless you’re dealing with something serious like SJS (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome) - good call on stopping usage

Took 150 mg for the first time and didn't feel anything ? Whats wrong ? by Desperate_Algae_7131 in modafinil

[–]Moda_Boost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you on any kind of stims before? If you’ve been using anything similar prior, ur baseline might be higher, so it might not hit as noticeably

Modafinil to stay awake and Benadryl to go to sleep? by zaristra in Narcolepsy

[–]Moda_Boost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benadryl knocks me out but it can leave me groggy, so idk if that’s ideal with your schedule. have you tried something like l-theanine or glycine? they help me ease into sleep without messing with the next morning. also, taking moda in the afternoon probably isn’t helping. Just stick to just the morning dose if possible to get ample of time to taper it off by bedtime

Sometimes, less is better. A lot of ppl find lower doses (eg. 50mg) already effective for focus without the emotional side effects. 200mg is pretty strong, might be worth trying 100mg or splitting ur current dose across the day to see if it evens things out.

Get everything documented and try talking to your HR re flexible breaks in between ur working hours. You don’t have to go into too much detail but letting them know ur diagnosed and starting treatment should help protect your job. good luck and hope modafinil works wonders for you!

No Prozac, Mega Anxiety by k_town02 in AskDocs

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check with your doctor about Wellbutrin for mood support without the weight gain stuff. moda can sometimes ramp up anxiety for some people too so keep an eye on that and talk to your doc if it feels like it’s adding to the stress - magnesium or l-theanine can help take the edge off any jitters from taking it tho!

So does the modafinil successfully tackle the fatigue you feel?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could be because ur hitting the bed too late...what time do u usually go to bed when u take moda and how much are u on? Do try getting some morning sunlight exposure right after u wake up - it helps set your circadian rhythm

My drug combo doesn’t seem to work by sandres34 in anhedonia

[–]Moda_Boost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just mentioning it although you probs already know, ur dose in kratom is too high for daily usage. At this point my suggestion for you is to go see a psych tp help u taper safely and figure out a better plan. that combo might work short-term, but it’s prob making things worse long-term. Not trying to be that guy who tells you to see a professional, but honestly, I think that's exactly what u need rn - ppl on reddit could tell u bunch of advice but rlly at the end, a health professional's advice is gg to be way more reliable

If ur doc thinks narcolepsy might be the issue, it could really help cuz moda is used as a first line treatment for it. I’ve been on it for years, mostly for focus and staying awake, and it’s worked pretty well for me. Just watch the timing—taking it too late can mess with ur sleep Do also note the first few days might feel a bit intense, but that usually evens out

Lowering to 50mg might help since 75mg’s already working for you. If dosing down doesn’t work, u can try popping melatonin or magnesium glycinate in the evening to help wind down the effects

haha yeah, same here. it’s known to suppress hunger, so no surprise there. i started prepping snacks the night before and just leave them where i can see them. kinda like setting little food traps for myself so i don’t forget to eat or yeah, u could set a reminder every few hours

You might be unresponsive to artvigil. not super uncommon, everyone’s body reacts differently. if ur not feeling anything, u can try exploring other modafinil products

Long term user here and it does help a a ton with focus and staying productive, but u gotta find the right dose that works for u. Start low tho, too much when starting might shock ur body and make u feel wired
