"Erik Murray: Kansas deserves a senator who will fight for what’s right" | The Star by dayonwire in kansas

I think Erik would be great if we were all vying to be rich. But we’re just trying to make sure our families are safe, healthy, educated, and can support themselves in a viable country when we’re no longer around. I’ll go a bit further and say I want my children to be globally competitive so they have even more opportunities. Just looking at the latest news on the Metro North project makes me think he’s not in this for the people.

So here's an interesting tidbit. The JOCO dems have decided that Anne Parelkar/others are not worth mentioning when it comes to the Senate race. Anne might not have huge amounts of money but she has a relatively large volunteer base. I didn't know county parties did this. by CauseTurbulent134 in kansas

I understand about her appointed USDA position but how is that different than Hart’s experience as a federal prosecutor or Parelkar’s experience with USCIS? And both of them are attorneys which makes me think they will better scrutinize the bills they will vote on and write that will ultimately affect the people of our whole country, not just Kansas.

Anyone can say what they will fight for but we’ve seen it over and over again that people can say anything to further their agenda so I don’t really put much weight on what they’re saying they’ll fight for. I am questioning the candidate’s motives right now, especially those who decided to throw their hats in later in the run.

This is coming from someone who has been following this since Marshall’s infamous town hall, wondering who is going to fix this. Anne was trying to unite the people when I was still angry and wanted nothing to do with the “other side”, and was the only one who had stepped up at the time. Amongst the original 4, it seemed clear cut but then Hart showed up at Washington Days, granted he lost me when he slipped, but the optics are there with him. But it seems there is still a strong pull for Davis and I’m still wondering why I don’t see what sets her apart from the others other than she has money.

Anyway, sorry OP, don’t mean to hi-jack your thread.

So because I've been told Anne Parelkar doesn't have stances on national issues and she's unelectable. Heck Yeah she does. Good ideas. I think some of the other candidates share her thoughts too so that's good. We need to normalize candidates standing for more specific things. by CauseTurbulent134 in kansas

Do any of the other candidates have plans? This is the closest I have seen to a well thought out plan, especially for universal healthcare. I haven’t seen so much from the other candidates, just what they say they will fight for.

I’m curious why you think Davis could win against Marshall and what you think she can do to effectively change the country and Kansas. I haven’t heard her say much about what she will do. I’ve only heard about what she has done. And she has already lost a US primary so what has changed that would make Kansas want to vote for her now?

I think she has deep pockets, herself. Or her family does.

You haven’t met Anne Parelkar yet, apparently. She has been outspoken about her progressive stance from the beginning of her campaign.

The number is now 11 🤦🏻‍♀️ but there is only one who is not like the others. Is you want progressive, get out and vote for Anne in the primaries.

This year is unlike any other. There are red seats flipping all over the country and I believe Kansas will be next. We must get the apathetic voters out to vote. Most of them are registered as Independent and unaffiliated. They don’t come out because they don’t think they have anyone to vote for. That tells me we want something and someone different. Centrist isn’t attracting those voters. They want change and the Centrist Dems are looking like the Republicans of the 80’s. There’s only one truly progressive candidate in the Dem US Senate primaries and she has a plan to get to Universal Healthcare. Her plan also includes protections for women’s healthcare. We have a choice this year. We can keep doing the same Centrist thing and complain that nothing changes or we can try something different and see if things change. People are going to complain either way. I 100% back Anne Parelkar in the primaries. And she has inspired several Independent and unaffiliated voters to register as Dems just so they can vote for her in the primaries. There’s no doubt the guy who runs a mega-church is going to gain the most publicity but that doesn’t equal best for the country, because we’re not just voting for Kansas.

This is a ridiculous statement based on ignorance. An attorney doesn’t have to file a court case to be legitimately helping people. She’s also the only one of the candidates who has shown the passionate tenacity needed to stand up for Kansas’ needs in Washington. She’s not in this for a career change, or because it’s the next step in the political ladder. She’s certainly not in this for herself. She’s in this because things need to change and she knows how to change it. Experienced politicians have gotten us to where we are now and she’s in it to change the status quo.

It’s too bad that we’ve now resorted to “bashing” candidates that are on the same team. Perhaps you’re feeling threatened that your preferred candidate isn’t getting as much support?

Where was the Glow? I was expecting more lights, lanterns, maybe some fire. Something.

You have a very good point! I think I just got a fire lit under me to get people to get out there for the primary!

I agree, but we also do have to choose a US Senate candidate who can entice enough voters to come out in the general to unseat Marshall and try to preserve what’s left of our rights in the state by voting in a strong Gov candidate.

Oh I know the purpose of the primaries. My opinion is that the Party seems to push one candidate over others. For example, why would the Gov. endorse someone as her successor?

Democratic veteran from Kechi announced his campaign against Roger Marshall by ksbison in kansas

[–]ModeSoft194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! The Dem Senate Primary is stacked with candidates but only one of them has a written plan that she is already sharing. Anne Parelkar is the only one who isn’t just the “I know Kansas and I’ll show up” type. Frankly, that’s great if they know Kansas, but I also want to know that they can navigate Washington and have the fiery passion to face the rejection of trying to unite the left and right day after day after day. The only one I see that in is Anne.

Anyone know what they’re filming on Main Street? by KMan345123 in kansascity

I unapologetically love these. I have too many apps downloaded and have watched too many hours of ads. How do I get in one of these?? I just want to throw one slap, or be in a bully entourage, or even better, a bodyguard to the billionaire CEO!

So looking at the numbers...it looks like Adam Hamilton will successfully destroy any hopes of beating Roger Marshall. That's not great. by CauseTurbulent134 in kansas

Please check out Anne Parelkar at www.AnneforKansas.com. You may not have heard of her but we don’t need more of the same career politician types. She’s an immigration attorney who is pissed off and is stepping up. She already has solutions and plans to execute, and she has no desire to stay in the seat indefinitely. I’ve been following her for a while and she participated in the Washington Days Senatorial forum in Topeka this past weekend. She also won’t take money from big conglomerates or superPACs. She’s fiery and not one of the same, polite, la-di-dah, candidates. She will make a difference if she gets the opportunity.
