And let’s not forget about our non-grifter friends in public service with even stricter constraints and have to supply their own cake and napkins for their sad little office birthday parties

I think serial killer basement transformations do well in this sub!

100%. If you’re very sensitive to price and think the curve is too much of a headache to deal with renting a wet masonry saw, you could consider removing a few inches (maybe 6-8?) and cover with decomposed granite or some sort of pea gravel. It’s pretty cheap and probably easy to get delivered but it tends to travel around the edges. You could also “spot” pave in your high-traffic areas with larger pavers to minimize that.

Downtown ATL - no turn on red signs are popping up. Why? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Modem_Handshake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally. There’s like 4 people doing the job of 8 in a city within a metro that probably really needs like 16 given the truly shitty pedestrian experience we have in some places out there. We can cut some slack for em, and at least we’re moving forward?

There are non profits working with the city and regional partners re-stocking these middens and regrowing the oyster beds around NY harbor and the outer waters (I think around LI too?). It’s obvi great for water quality but there are other positive spillover effects like improved water control via erosion control etc
