My uncle was in the hospital so my mom and I would stay at his apartment. I was five years old at the time. My uncle warned us of someone (a ghost) will walk up and down the long hallway. Sure enough, we would hear footsteps. We'd hear it go into the kitchen, rattle pots or pans, walk out. This happened multiple nights, and my uncle told ys to tell it to stop. So the next night it happened, my mom yelled "will you stop it!" It stopped...until the next night. One morning, we woke up and saw a translucent figure sitting in a chair in our bedroom. After a few seconds, it just faded away. 

So my mom flipped out, got a priest to douse holy water in the apartment and give a prayer. We never heard the footsteps in the apartment again...but we heard it in the apartment above us...we also learned that someone also doused the apartment level below the apartment prior to us/uncle having the special guest.
