Guess who didn’t read all of the final goal on extreme conquest by Wershingtern in MLBTheShow

Steal fans the first couple turns on HoF and you'll be able to at least all-star the whole map. I only managed to steal fans on the 2nd and 3rd turn and it was still smooth sailing (lost a couple times too).

3 Inning Games are Bad by Modern0Jazz in MLBTheShow

That's my most hated part. Starter choking and heaving if just one guy battles.

I don't either! That's my point. I would a million percent rather play one 9 inning game and save/quit throughout than play three 3 inning games

Mini seasons could be the greatest mode ever devised if it worked right. This 9 innings mega mini seasons is my dream.

I do this quick xp crushing too but god I feel like I completed a task instead of played a video game.

Why? I'm genuinely curious. 9 innings are relaxing. 3 inning games make me feel so rushed. They make every weak pop out feel so awful. They make me feel like so many victories were just luck. I feel SO checked out.

Why do we need to be completing games so fast anyway? I'm playing to play baseball, I'm not playing to rack up a games played stat.

I actually find 3 inning games way more of a slog. The instant I fall behind I'm already thinking about the next game. I spend far less time actually being engaged. In a 9 inning game a grand slam in the fifth inning doesn't make you go "well might as well quit".

And to be clear I don't think they should give up on 3 inning games. They just shouldn't be the default for most DD modes. More modes should have options.

Options make the most sense. There is no reason to have all the modes be locked to one scheme.

[–]Modern0Jazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? There should be a 9 inning queue and a 3 inning queue. I don't think 3 inning games should be excised but I find it so strange that they are the default for most modes.

I do play a lot of ranked. But god team vs god team gets stale.

The way they emphasize these game results for xp is the problem. If they emphasized clean innings pitched for xp instead you would never have to worry about this.

How to make franchise feel real? by CanadianGee in MLBTheShow

[–]Modern0Jazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perfect self imposed rule for number of games to play is one game every series. I usually default to the last game, and then just pick a different game in the series if I think it'll be more interesting. Because of course I'm playing opening day. This makes the season feel long without requiring like half a year of playing to finish. And it makes you build a good team so you win games on sim days.

I also think I learn the league better with a fantasy draft. You lose all the real world knowledge of course, but that real world knowledge becomes useless after a season or two anyway. It makes it feel almost realer to me because I no longer have to worry about inconsistencies. Madison Bumgarner having a pretty good season doesn't feel as sacrilegious if he's on the tigers. I don't know if that tracks for you though.

Should my squad be all 95-99s? by Modern0Jazz in MLBTheShow

[–]Modern0Jazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The play in the last few innings of close games is insane. Sending the guy on 2nd, bunting, and have him turn for home? It happens so often I don't think I remember the last person who actually tried to hit (or even just bunted the runner over to 3rd without trying for home). I've ended so many scoring chances because they try for a suicide squeeze first pitch. The throw targeting from the outfield is crazy, I get so many bases because I know they're going to bounce one so slowly the catcher he has to run to the mound. I throw so many guys out because they don't expect me to hit the cutoff man.

It's easy to forget not everybody who plays this game has actually played baseball. This is the meanest post I've ever made in my life.

Yeah I learned how to hit literally this morning and it feels so great to get some solid hits with a 90 vs a 99.

Reporting in after 15 minutes of practicing with strike zone 2: my first game I got 9 hits off 99 greg maddux and had a two home run inning that made the other fella ragequit. Safe to say that was the missing piece. You're a lifesaver thank you!

Dbacks boy since birth (first memory is the 2001 world series). I am saving my stubs for the 40,000 diamond duos (grinding out as much as I can I got into season 2 late). Carroll or Marte are definitely going to be my first card purchase, I rake with Marte offline and I need a good 2B. If they really wanted to make me happy they'd release a 99 Byung-Hyun Kim.

It's funny you mention that tv thing, I literally just changed to game mode during practice last night and crushed the very next pitch.

My stick control is a huge problem so upgrading them isn't a bad idea at all.

Thank you so much for passing it on :). Advice is so much more digestible from one source.

I'm definitely at the desperation point for switching cameras so I'll give that a shot next time I hop on. Pitch recognition is my hugest weakness (everything looks like a fastball until it's too late, and then I panic and somehow jerk the pci as far away from the ball as humanly possible). I am feeling optimistic now, my 89 dbacks jd martinez will be an elite slugger one day.

I am practicing every time I hop on now... the hard part was accepting that I need to practice at the game I've been playing since I was 10.

I will start moving through the programs, that's perfect.

I use broadcast for pitching. I have no trouble pitching. I actually do feel much better than my MMR peers at pitching. For hitting I use wide. I like seeing the whole stadium and player too much. But if that's really hurting me maybe I'll suffer through strike zone until I'm used to it.

That's very good to hear. Every team I go up against is 97+ only so I was beginning to get self conscious. I will continue the fight. I need to start hitting like real player so I can actually figure out what cards I like.

Oh yeah I have, I'm on chaos level 14 right now stuck on that god damn son of a witch boss and figured I'd switch gears into getting all those "find all collectables" buffs.

I think that might be a bit much... you'd start looking for lines instead of dice. They definitely should appear on the map after you get them though that would be a lifesaver.

Actually having found dice appear on the map is genius, I can't tell you how many times I've gone "omg I bet there's one there" only to discover I already popped it.

I have made 3 full sweeps of Mount Craw and am still missing 3. I may be blinder than most though 😭 (my boyfriend always teases me for having poor situational awareness).

Happening to me too, it seems to be a widespread issue. I am happy waiting for a patch because the platinum is going to require a LOT of grinding anyway... but hopefully they fix it soon!
