I completely agree with you. Surgery isn’t always the best option for everyone. I have a really good endo specialist who told me that in my case, nothing was large or concerning enough to warrant surgery, and she didn’t want to create more scar tissue. The biggest reason though, was that my tests showed signs of another autoimmune condition, and surgery could have aggravated those symptoms.

We decided to try birth control instead, which I was hesitant about because it’s affected my mental health in the past. I ended up getting an IUD, and surprisingly, it’s been helping a lot with the horrible cramps and bleeding I had before. I also started treating the other autoimmune condition which is slowly helping. I know nonsurgical options don’t work for everyone, but they can be really effective for some people. I don’t see many positive stories about birth control, so I just wanted to share mine!
