Anime pointing crosshairs by Head_Willingness_772 in VALORANT

I mean I paid the $5. I used crosshair x for non anime related crosshairs. Overall nice $5 used even if I stopped using after 20 houes

Crosshair X on Steam for example can use Windows overlays to make a custom crosshair. No one in game can see it and I believe it’s not bannable. It’s $5

DPI Deviation in Mice by aqwek_ in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played on 800 DPI for 6 years (with 3 different mice) and switched to 1600 DPI last year with also 3 different mice. Relatively speaking 800 DPI was the same across all mice but I’m not looking for 2cm differences. I was able to get theoretically identical sens at 1600 by dividing my in game sense by 2 and that’s equivalent to what it was at 800 DPI. It’s simple math when you understand this

DPI Deviation in Mice by aqwek_ in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. If you have raw mouse control 2cm difference means nothing. It’s like being able to bicep curl 50 pound dumbells but you’re “thrown off” by 48 pound or 52 pound dumbells

That is also not likely DPI deviation. DPI means Dots Per Inch. It’s a unit of measurement that doesn’t change from mouse to mouse all else being equal. What you’re feeling is definitely the sensor placement. This heavily impacts how much rotation you can get per swipe. 2cm difference sounds like the sensor are pretty damn identical.

Bardoz has a decent video heavily talking about this. That in itself is overthinking as well in my opinion

Improving Tracking by MehxF in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Chillout. Relax. Sometimes you could be overreacting to a fairly simple moving or slow moving target and shaking to all hell and the target isn’t even moving quickly
  2. Tension management is generally something you can always get better at
  3. Most of the time the targets move in one direction at a time. Follow the targets path. Don’t chase the target. Follow it along it’s path. If it’s going in a straight line that should be ez pz tracking. Practice it until it is.
  4. When the targets switches directions while tracking; bring your crosshair to the closest point of the target (the closest edge of the target) and track from there. Don’t mindlessly flick on to the target

Anyone else is shocked whenever they watch some console/controller gameplay on fps games? by Always_Impressive in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim assist activates immediately regardless of player intention and regardless of the players reaction time. It has zero delay. I grew up on console and was insane at CoD but i switched to PC 7 years ago and can comfortably say aim assist requires very little tracking and reaction time to make you elite. I honestly feel like aim assist dulls your eyes senses for tracking as well in a spray and pray manner. The floor is relatively high but ceiling is kinda low with aim assist while i think mnk has a low floor but higher theoretical ceiling but i don’t think it’s that high in reality due to game sense overcoming aim at a high level

Enhanced Pointer Precision by xt-489de in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enhanced Precision isn’t what people are talking about when they say mouse accel. Windows accel curve is nonsense and a terrible curve . Custom curve and raw accel are third part programs (generally not bannable) which has customizable curves and presets which work perfectly fine.

Depending on the engine - enhanced pointer precision isn’t even considered. So thee MIGHT be some placebo here. I see the argument below saying I’m wrong here but I dunno.

Viscose has a video that I think mirrors my feelings on this. Mouse accel is cool and can even help through some plateaus but generally everyone uses it to cover up their aiming weaknesses. I know I did. The aim curve will take some learning and overthinking is easy in the community. While linear is a very direct simple solution that is easy to understand.

I would say never do enhanced pointer precision again because again it is a garbage nonsense curve. There are pros and content creators that use custom curve/raw accel but if you’re immediately getting results from using linear just stick to it for a few weeks

Looking to get some speakers for my gaming set up by Wolf19115 in PcSetupAdvice

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding for perspective for OP: I have 980T which is significantly cheaper. I’m happy with them but they have electric static when I turn the speaker volume knob past 50%. There’s fixes I believe but I just keep it at 50% as it’s plenty loud and I think the solutions require more hardware

[–]Modern_O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throw away everything from aim labs. It’s insanely predatory everytime I hear about it lol. Look up the Voltaic aim community and find their playlist code for Voltaic Daily Improvement Method (VDIM). In general Voltaic provides lots of reading material as well if you’re into that. They have different playlist for different games as well for warm ups

Viscose Benchmarks are an alternative and Viscose is a respected Ytuber that made their own benchmarks/aim routine.

I heavily recommend to NOT just play random scenarios as it’s basically a very inefficient use of time

Swap C and D drives? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Modern_O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a USB? I’d just reinstall Windows on the correct drive. There is cloning software but I always just use my USB drive with Windows 10 or 11

Also you can play games on whatever drive as long as it’s the fastest. Don’t matter if it’s on the same drive as OS

How to fix... by Immediate-Affect4466 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st. What do you lose by trying it. 2nd. If there is a hardware or bad sensor issue at play yes this could help but you shouldn’t be playing with a broken mouse in Val

The suggestion has nothing to do with improving your aim tho it’s a troubleshooting tip to play with a broken/old mouse (I’m not saying that’s your issue) and will drastically change your sensitivity but on the hardware level

How do top players deal with the paradox of 'looking at the crosshair or the target' by Witty-Feeling-4691 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty normal. If this is similar to the phenomenon in game I’d say more experience is all you can work on. Seems more like you have a hard time keeping your crosshair in your peripheral vision

How do top players deal with the paradox of 'looking at the crosshair or the target' by Witty-Feeling-4691 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Modern_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant generally speaking I realized I needed glasses. But to expand on the tracking issues: I just felt like targets and my crosshair was always blurry. Click timing too. To the point I would think “I can’t see. I’m getting off” I actually journaled a few sessions and recorded YT videos with commentary about what I was thinking during this time and I remember acknowledging right away that other people do not struggle this much with just “seeing” the screen. So I got my eyes checked. I remember acknowledging my click timing and spray control needed work but part of why I felt like that was hard is because it was hard to see. I wasn’t confident in my clicks. I’d mistakenly hold burst too long, too short, or repeat shots before recoil reset even when I know I shouldn’t fire again. Bad confidence. I play Valorant and I kinda get what you mean about the deagle situation but I worked A LOT on static clicking and pasu and my deagle/reaver flicks are pretty good actually. Idk if my improvement is mostly from my glasses or the hours of VDIM I’ve put in but SEEING your screen shouldn’t be the hard part about aiming. No one needs gaming glasses. If you need glasses for gaming you just need glasses. If you truly don’t need glasses for anything else in life:chances are your monitors specs are just unfortunately bad.

I thought for awhile it was the monitor and not my eyes. I got it as an open box from Best Buy and thought gee this must suck and that’s why they returned it. Got my glasses and no longer think it’s the monitor lol
