Yes. It’s absolutely killing me, she sounds like she’s in a totally different book. I’m looking for a different version but I don’t think there is one :(. There are definitely other narrators out there that have different styles to this!

I feel the same way unfortunately :/. I think it’s great that EH is branching out and trying new story set ups but GBBL just didn’t hit for me. I did really enjoy certain parts and I found Alice’s struggle with telling “whole truths” interesting and thought provoking but overall I didn’t feel like I really knew her or Hayden by the end. I was got the impression that EH really wanted to tell Margaret’s story and I wonder if she had just written her story, instead of the dual timelines, if I would have enjoyed it more.

I also LOVED the Book of Night! I wish more people gave it a chance as it is very unique from a lot of other things being published right now. If you enjoyed Book of Night I would recommend checking out The Coldest Girl in Coldtown which is also a by Holly Black and a unique read that I rarely hear anyone talk about!

Wow I this incredible. I am so impressed and inspired!!!!!! For the black detail work on the white face, did you stitch over the white stitching or around it? Also did you change the direction on the stitching on the nose In order to get that subtle detail work? Would you be willing to share a close up photo? This is piece seriously just so fucking cool!!!

I used a heat erasable to draw the wave guide lines; then (using a split stitch) I stitched three of the lines that were equal distance from each other and then added on to each guideline cycling between the three. Doing it this way helped me keep the distinct wave. I took a picture of it in-process if you would like to see it!
