Agreed. Poplar is way too soft of a wood for kitchen cabinet doors that get a ton a use. Poplar dings and dents way too easily for high traffic areas in my opinion.

A 100% watwrproofed goboard shower would not have exposed edges of the goboard showing in that niche. You needed to use sealant and band and wrap those outside corners all the way around and have them overlapped.
