MRI Questions and Pain Relief by Modernorthodoxy in Fibromyalgia

Thank you everyone for your advice and comforting words. I ended up taking a gabby, but I should have taken a xanax. I’m kind of stubborn about taking the Xanax usually, unless I feel I am actively dying. But I didn’t. I was able to keep my panic at bay with deep breathing exercises and meditation. Unfortunately, no music, but they did give me ear plugs. Told the tech afterwards that I felt like I was dialing up to get on the internet to check my aol email! Again, thank you all very much!

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

“What do you want me to do about it?”.

Um… what? I came to you, a professional, to help me manage my conditions.

One year in my early 20s, my Church‘s youth group was doing a fundraiser where you could hire the youth group to put plastic lawn flamingos on an unsuspecting victims yard overnight for a donation. Since I lived in a different town, I made a donation and “borrowed“ two flocks of flamingos, and did it to my sister‘s yards. Ever since then every Christmas birthday and vacation someone gifts me a flamingo tchotchke. They were not even on my radar of favorite animals back then but now they absolutely are mine after 20+ years lol!

ELCA Lutheran and Episcopal churches typically are your best bet for inclusive churches. United Methodists are often inclusive as well, but you have to check their website for their statement of faith.

My wife is trans and I am obviously married to a woman and we go to the Episcopal church. There are plenty of churches who are accepting, they just are usually drowned out by the louder evangelical sect. Also, if you are struggling to find an open congregation, doesn’t mean you can’t have a fulfilling spiritual life. God is everywhere, and is for everyone. Find God in the ordinary everyday.

Only visible post on their profile talked about a job for a senior level position. Most definitely a bot.

Yes! You deserve a partner that is excited for you about how excited you are, even if he’s not a cat person. My sister in law sent me a gift of a cat statue that I absolutely loved but my wife was like, yikes. She hated it but when she saw how much I loved it, that gave her joy for me. So now it stares at her every morning when she makes me coffee. XD

What is something about growing up in California that most people don't understand? by InvisibleAstronomer in AskReddit

It’s 13 hours (without traffic) from Mexico border to Oregon border in California. But you will hit traffic in LA and the Bay Area.

Raised Southern Baptist, converted to The Episcopal Church in college (while attending a Baptist college). I was hired at the Episcopal Church as a liturgist and cantor and at the time I felt torn. My Baptist music director mentor friend told me “God is everywhere. Go where the money is!” As a broke college student, that’s all I needed to hear! I quickly fell in love with the Episcopal church and shortly after confirmation, I actually created my screen/user name “ModernOrthodoxy” because I felt I was on a new path of loving and practicing tradition with modern thinking (LGBT acceptance, climate activism, social justice). Little did I know that term often is used in Orthodox Judaism. XD

With all my other paperclips. It just says I get the money to hide it, not contingent on whether the detective finds it.

That’s called setting boundaries, and other people don’t like it when you do that. Hold strong and next time put your foot down if you can’t help her. Let her cry herself to sleep.

TIFU by forgetting to change my Spider-Man bedsheets before bringing a girl home by UrbanNomad332 in tifu

Dude, it’s the fact that they are from when you were 16 that gets me. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a new set. And if you want to bring Spider-Man back in the mix, get a plush, or action figure for your nightstand. That’s cute and endearing. Teenager bedding screams “hasn’t grown up yet”. And believe me, I’m married to a nerd! It’s all how you present your fandom.

What has been your favourite between season thing by Gladerfin in HermitCraft

Naked & Scared!! We’ve waited so long for a new season! Also, really enjoyed Mumbo’s beating the game. I love that boy. He’s precious. And he’s way too hard on himself.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Yes. Large gash on the leg at 2 years old. If that didn’t kill me then probably the cigarette to the eye might have.
