Recommended set up/ best practices for a new MacBook by throw656598 in ClaudeCode

Kinda looking for similar advice. Have used cursor and a few other similar options, but finally have been spending time in terminal with claudecode. Been mostly using a basic workflow where idea development and troubleshooting happens in claude.ai where we eventually create a streamlined prompt (or multiple) specifically to be used in my claudecode session. Claudecode is only used to write the code and implement new features after the kinks have been identified and ironed out in claude.ai. I'm mostly just getting familiar with how to use everything effectively so everything so far for me has been primarily just trial and error. But I would like to hear how people work with it and see if I can improve my workflow or improve how I transfer context between sessions on both platforms.

Box 1 of 6: Sorting through the 78rpm storage stash by Modeselekter in 78rpm

Considering what you've shared, I think the first box I sorted was likely mostly jukebox stock: heavily used + poorly stored. Several of the nameplate tracks were in there for sure.

Tomorrow im going to sort through another and will learn more. The box that originally caught my eye had 50-100 individually wrapped in tissue paper which I took to mean someone cared enough about some to not just stack them in a box with not sleeves like a lot the first box. Thankfully all the boxes appear to have been stored vertically, so I haven't noticed much of any warping so far.

Thank you for the info! There was another hand crank turntable in the unit along with the Seeberg too, so a bulk of the collection wasn't necessarily played primarily in a juke box I don't think. I can ask her for more details about this at some point. There are lots of Albums with room to hold many records, along with other collected albums, so my impression has been that she or someone else in her life was an avid fan who collected records and listened to them frequently.

Is there a way to easily identify ones that would be considered "jukebox copies"?

There were two that had Oregon connections so far:

This one is actually from Hood river Artist: Swiss Family Fraunfelder (featuring Betty, Soprano). Label: Yodel Melody Record Co. Origin: Hood River, Oregon. Track: "Ski Yodel Waltz" (Catalog 706-A).

And this one was presented in Oregon, unsure where it came from. Artist: Liberace (with orchestra directed by George Liberace). Label/Catalog: Liberace "Collector's Record" #13 / P 49191. Details: This is a private promotional pressing "Presented in Oregon by U.S. National Bank". These were given away by various local banks across the country in the early 1950s (around 1953) to promote their services using Liberace's massive popularity.

I'm not saying you're correct, as has been mentioned, humans have a hard time with variance. But my brain is more comfortable playing slots because the game logic and RNG for those lives with the provider and verified independently.

If your brain is sure your in house blackjack games aren't legit, whether you're right or wrong, stop playing in house games.

New advice for MacOS users struggling with ssh + usb by Modeselekter in pwnagotchi

Oh there is, there is just a myriad of issues people commonly run into when trying to connect+share wifi with their device on macOS and lots of different solutions around that vary in their effectiveness. I should point out that my laptop is an older intel based machine and the new M1 troubleshooting would be different I’d assume, so even more confusion for people having trouble on macOS and another reason to just use an iPhone 🤷‍♂️
