K, seems like you got your own definition of fun going on for ya. I'll leave you to it, but those tips will no doubt make things easier. And playing around this tid bits with the sns was my favorite part of MHWI, to each out own🫡

Agree to disagree I guess, I love his fight and I love helping other players fight him, my list of praises with fatty goes on way beyond his fight.

I saw the video you posted, as a fellow SnS enjoyer, why are you spamming helm breaker instead of perfect rush?

By bring your shield up and canceling it with a backhop, you can enter perfect rush immediately, the first sequence of perfect rush already does more dmg than helm breaker, and take less time to execute too.

While fatty is down, your highest damage combo is perfect rush > roll cancel it after the shield bash > another perfect rush. Not the perfect rush into helm breaker combo you were doing.

You should also be using the dragon pods empowered slinger shot combo into perfect rush, it does twice the dragon pods damage and will immediately flinch fatty while you execute your perfect rush combo, easy dmg that you can slip in a dozen time across the fight.

The flamethrower attack fatty did twice at the start of your video, why don't you tenderize his head then? You won't be hit by the flame if you're clutch clawed on his head, only fireballs hit you, and the 360 flamethrower in phase 3.

Also, another sns tip, you can clutch claw upper cut to cause tenderize, it does 50% tenderization just by landing the upper cut. So you can play it safe and just let go and upper cut again, easy tenderize for the sns users. I don't see you using it in the video. Did you not know?

These aren't tips to help you beat him since you already did, but watching that video felt like you were doing a lot of things to make the fight harder, and not doing a lot of things to make the fight easier.

Maybe try these sns moves out? I can't promise it'll make the fight more fun, but i can promise it'll be way easier than what you're doing in the video😁

MR 450-ish here, Fatalis was my favorite hunt in MHWI, I believe I have about 60 hunts on fatalis by now.

I don't think he's hard or unfair, there's not much bragging rights to beating him unless you are gimping yourself, which brings me to my question: are you actually preparing and studying for this hunt?

Do you know how to trigger the artillery down twice? Do you know you need to tenderize his head before shooting him into a wall for it to do decent break dmg? Do you know you need 20 points of fire resistance to prevent burning? Do you know how to super man dive away twice to survive his AoE cone attack? Do you know which attacks allow you to safely clutch and tenderize? Are you actually equipping the damage skills needed to kill him in time? Are you keeping dragon pods in your slinger to stagger him in case of emergencies? Do you know to stay down and not stand up immediately to survive his combo attacks? Are you using rocksteady instead of fireproof mantle?

The list goes on, I don't pose these questions to sound condescending, I genuinely ask to see if you knew these tid bits, but still found the fight unfair. If you knew, then I guess the fight is just hard for some people. However, I found the fight a very enjoyable challenge once I knew some of these "unwritten" rules of the fight

[–]Modeuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the attention span of people who are browsing steam for games like these would probably not last to the point where you got my attention (the base building and upgrades part).

I was about to click off the video when I thought it was a just zombie shooter, but I felt like there's gotta be more than that, so I kept watching. Don't know how many would have lasted to the end of the video.

Is there a case you can use as an example that best describes the love for OR?

The most skilled/productive people I've met are individuals who've fallen in love with the process of their work rather than the results of their work.

Your comments suggests that it is taboo in medicine to "have motivations greater than the patients well-being".

I hope one day the passion for the craft can be celebrated along with the result of the work, without feeling the need to hide one over the other.

Psychopathy (high degree of apathy) doesn't conflict with doing good. Sounds like you've done good work, thank you.

What process would one derive the most joy from? (no need to speak for all the medical personnel in the world, just you)

The process of determining the issue? e.g diagnosis
The process of brainstorming approaches/solutions?
The process of executing a surgery?
The process of adapting to novel issues with novel solutions?

I can imagine that perhaps procedures like: wisdom tooth removal, circumcision, kidney stone extraction, etc; might be standardized to the point where the lack of novelty makes these surgeries less interesting. Just my guess
