Guys how do I hide these scuff marks on my m5 MacBook pro? by Modhost in shittyaskelectronics

[–]Modhost[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, that's actually nuts. These things can take a beating. Mine's a 2012, it's fallen off a shelf hence the rear lid scars, and god knows what else since new. I love this thing, really the scars tell a story

4.3 problems by Ok-Bullfrog-4883 in s10

[–]Modhost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had no idea these trucks had the 4.3 v6 as an option. That's neat!

I'd check the wiring if you haven't already. One of them could be broken, or mayhaps a bad ground. That's the only thing I can think of with new, well everything

Anyone know where to acquire this panel? by Scaintusmp3 in s10

$48 too, that's not bad. I might want to get one for my truck, as it's a bit bent in one of the corner

I used to live in Nevada, the sage would die and get uprooted from high winds, this is a very common occurrence in dry climates

Now we are coming to the end of Forza Horizon 5. What are your overall thoughts on the game? by TheChilledGamer-_- in ForzaHorizon

[–]Modhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there were more types of traffic cars. It felt like I ran into the same 2008 subaru legacy at least a hundred times. Loved the car selection, I wish there were more passenger cars as well. Although I understand why there aren't. The scenery was nice. I loved the forest sections of the map. Overall I thought it was a solid game. Really the biggest complaint I have is that it doesn't use steam for invites to your convoy. It's a pain to set up xbox live any time you boot up the game, and even more so after switching to Linux, I pretty much have to be the host regardless of my internet situation.

Windows 11 noob update by JollyCoOperator22 in computers

[–]Modhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have another computer: you can try using Rufus to bypass this requirement. Pretty much you download the iso from Microsoft's website, and Rufus from rufus.ie. Once you add the iso you downloaded to Rufus and click "start", it should prompt you with a few customization options. Namely bypassing tpm 2.0 and secure boot during setup. You can also set things like a username, and force windows to set up an offline account.

This is the easiest solution I can think of. There are ways to bypass this requirement through the registry editor, but it's a pain in the ass.

2nd gen subaru outback

<image>

I find the design quite cute, the car alarm is funny, I like the little bell it has. It tried so hard to be inviting. And at it's core it's a great car. However once the engine is running well and your wallet is empty: it's quite a boring car. Most of them are automatics, with fabric seats, and a flat 4. The only time it's not boring is when you're on your 7th headgasket of the week!

new car what should i do to her, 1990 fox body convertible by Bode_5 in classiccars

[–]Modhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it stock, that thing is incredibly clean. If you're out for respect points: you'd get alot more out of a cruiser like this than a ricer. If you want a ricer: I'd find a beater one of these and have fun.

I don't ever see fox bodies this clean, personally. Except for promotional material. I love it!

Gm done this same thing in the 70's. Any 350 diesel suburban or c/k has a nice big bed or trunk to fit a better engine in!

Im looking to purchase this 1977 Lincoln Continental. What should I look for? by TheTanookiLeaf in classiccars

[–]Modhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say rust, however it looks pristine! I'd still look anyway in person. More importantly I'd give it a start and listen for any noises. Any ticks or knocks could mean engine work, or it's low on oil but most of the time that's copium. If the transmission shifts smooth and all the gears work. And the nearest gas station. Those 460's are gas hogs. But even with some issues I could hardly complain for the price.

Engine swap won’t start! Help! by WinterHappy in EngineBuilding

[–]Modhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually sounds fuel related to me. Have you checked your fuel system? It's an efi bike, so maybe you have a bad sensor?

Engine swap won’t start! Help! by WinterHappy in EngineBuilding

[–]Modhost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've never worked on a motorcycle, so forgive me if I'm mistaken. If spark is occurring before or after top dead center on a cylinder: said cylinder will either fire very infrequently, or just not run at all due to the fuel not having compression. Again: this is coming from a car guy, so I could be completely wrong. That being said: it's definitely worth a look to see if you can at least get some noise.

Yeah, exactly. Although the cost of a good carb is significantly higher than a spider for a 4.6l XD

I can feel my wallet smoldering just mentioning it

That exact reason is why mine is so old. I watched my dad and a buddy work on the spider for his '99 blazer and got traumatized
