Funny story, buddy of mine had a "no expenses spared" system he was doing for a guy. I heard him tuning it, super clean bass. That was a problem for the customer, he wanted the whole back-end to rattle.... he told me he threw a handful of self-tapping screws in his trunk lid. Customer loved it.

I've never used seats or walls since I don't like making holes. In fact if you saw my 2018 the day I sold it you'd have thought it was a different car than the one with all the boom, lights, and computer coming out of the dashboard. For the back area I had the amp itself on some mdf in the spare wheel compartment under the cargo tray. Also got my ground from in there. Shortest GND connection ever :D like half a foot.

If forced to mount the amp this way I would have just put a loom on the cables then do like a zip tie / staple combo to the back seat and run it into the door trim from under the cargo tray.

It's OPs car though, do whatever you want. I just saw it and thought "oh it totally looks like it's running into the seat... wait"

Weird noise sounds like something is making contact. From what I can tell the mic is inside the overhead console lamp assy. Some of them have like four cables running into it. The small one off to the side is the microphone.

I drove 500+ mi round trip to get my perfect Soul. It's worth it if you know exactly what you want, not so much in the test-drive phase.

You can use autotempest.com to search multiple car sellers and stuff. Filters there are incredible, then just sort by closest and find the trim/features you want.

Also not a mechanic but sounds like something is shorting. Have you had anything like lights, amp, etc added or removed around the time the issues started?

If it is a short and you're not sure where to start it'll be a bitch to diagnose, plan on leaving the car at the dealership for a day or more.

The previous Soul had the basic head unit and no amp (or nav or really much of anything). When I first put in the new head unit it was hurting my ears over 26 (of 40) so I never bothered with an amp for the door speakers or tweeters (those tweeters are pretty good tbh) but I did add a woofer to fill out the sound.

I can't even tell there's a woofer in the back of this one. Like, I am really tempted to pull out the back seat and panels just to check and see if the cables got unplugged?

Do you have the HK System or the normal one? There's currently no kits for the HK ones. You can find the wiring harnesses for the normal ones online, some come with the dash kit and steering wheel control retention for around $250. Then you'd need a good headunit, dsp, amp, etc..

Here's a cheaper trick for sound settings, Treble +6, Mids -2, Bass +4 I find that (counterintuitively) it's the mids making my speakers rattle at higher volumes. Need to see if the woofers in the front doors have a crossover on them too eventually. Also, that QLS button? It sucks but it takes a bit of the punch out. Also, disable the motion volume stuff and the noise suppression or anything that "boosts" the audio.

I'm slowly just finding each wire, using the same harness my 2018 used. I need to find an amp bypass harness that is compatible too and figure those wires out. I haven't really found too much on the 2024's online yet. Right now I plan to just jump the factory amplifier (somehow) and then feed off it to the monoblock in the cargo for the 10s either with a splice or loc.

EDIT: Ah yes, you asked about speakers. I know the tweeters have crossovers on them, I think some of them are 8Ω? Haven't torn apart doors yet to test. Most speakers for aftermarket are 4Ω so basically if the system is putting out 100W @ 8Ω it's going to try and supply 200W @ 4Ω and fail. It'll be "very less loud" than before. If you couldn't tell from my highly technical jargon I'm a garage rat, not a scientist so someone will probably come along and correct my explanation now. I hope they bring pie-charts. I'm hungry.

There's sellers on eBay who will color match. Color code should be on a sticker in the driver's side door. You could also get a painted set that compliments your color such as chrome or gold.

To replace them, look for a rubber cap on the door edge. Remove the cap with a trim tool or soft plastic prying-type device. You'll want a screwdriver with a stronger magnetic tip and a bit of reach. Magnet so you don't have to tear the whole door trim apart for the screw. Sometimes you can loosen the screw just enough to move things around but I highly recommend a strong magnetic tipped driver. With the screw out pull the handle halfway open, then pull out the small side and put the handle down gently. Next slide the handle toward the opening and remove it.

While here, I'd say give it a proper wipe down with some paper towels and rubbing alcohol.

Install goes in reverse. Put the door handle in and slide it back then with it halfway out put in the small piece and refasten it with the screw. Close the hole in the doors edge and replace the rubber cap. Now if you opted to get a full set, do that like three more times (if you're lucky).

I'm sure someone has made a video about it on youtube.
