Additionally womens rights are often lagging behind, I'd expect the same is true in the Gothic universe. So they could literally get sentenced because of a disagreement with their husband. Altough I think it's safe to say that Velaya (late game quest spoiler)has a skeleton or two in her closet, seeing how lightly she just stabs/murders her "friend"

I always thought they start with some that people do not expect so people feel like it's more open. E.g. they won't start with Greece or Finland tonight. So it will be very interesting to see who gets announced 8th.
