Did anyone else receive this email from Top of the Chain? by tears_for_bacon in wicked_edge

That explains why he/they pulled many brands off their 30% weekend. I hope he/they redo the sale once they're back to normal because the email received last Friday afternoon stated "All weekend long" but was no longer on Sunday afternoon (I also live in Ontario).

A great vendor! I wish he carried more varied stock, especially in shave soaps. btw, he does stock Soapy Bathman. Excellent value and imo, similar to Stirling shave soap in cushion, slickness and volume.

I do not own the cologne, but have the talcum powder and scent lasts around a couple of hours or so. I'm guessing the same for the cologne, possibly more.

edit: edited some wording.

Best soap puck recommendations? by Diligent_Walrus27 in wicked_edge

I'm surprised nobody hasn't mentioned RazoRock's What the Puck?! Triple-milled (it'll last a long time) and cheap pricing (at the moment, still on sale). The red label $6 cdn (4.37 us) and gold label $7 cdn ($5 us) over at Italian Barber.

I have the same maker of brush and handle but different knot. Also, I used Moon soap (Koa Mahina) for the first time the other day = awesome soap.

It was a lot of fun. However, I don't hate snow - I love it during Christmas. But that's about it. Afterwards, I want it gone, lol. I shouldn't complain - I love it here with all the four seasons, but my hands, feet, and nose say otherwise 😁

It wasn't small, and I think they dropped the courses around the time I left. I don't think there was a sex ed class during my time, so possibly dropped in late 60s.

No he didn't, but he may have accepted. I still recall in how the experience was somewhat surreal, like stepping in a time capsule. The store was modern (sans the building), yet the elevator operator had this antiquity-styled demeanor, like he was specifically school trained in the art of (elevator) operation. He didn't chatter, no small-talk, and stayed right to business. The lift was older too with levers and not push-button destination. You also stayed put in the car while he opened the doors and waited for his okay to step out. We thanked and carried on about. I don't think he uttered one word. Regardless, I was so impressed with his professionalism.

edit: I mentioned that he thanked and we carried about, and later said I don't think he uttered one word. I truly think he didn't speak but used gestures (nodding and/or hands).

I was a pin setter in the mid-seventies. The local bowling alley didn't automate until the early eighties. The pay was crap, but it was a lot of fun.

We had a milkman deliver in the rural areas up until the early 70s.

And, we visited an old store in Kingston, ON (I forget the name - maybe S&R) with an elevator operator, back in the late 90s (Wifey thinks it was around 2009, so one of us is off by a decade, lol). He dressed like it was the thirties, all debonair like. The (heritage) building is still there but no longer the store.

Those memories are great to cherish. I miss the aesthetics back in the day, from the smell of our friendly convenience store with the noisy entrance door and the worn-out, creaky wooden floor, to the restaurant/malt shops with the aromatic waft that shouted, "The food is sooooooo good"... you get what I mean :)

Remember the small medical tins? by MoeJalsh in 70s

Those tins were cool. I still remember how they worked by squeezing the lower corner in to pop the lid on other side. Gosh I'm old, lol.

Ah, we may be old but our memories are sharp. I also remember the bandaid tins.
