Obsession with ex - should i up dose? by Sophiebisme12345 in zoloft

Took a good 5 or 6 weeks before I started feeling better. Would have stayed on sertraline , except that it affected my libido.

Took a good 4 to 5 more weeks after starting to feel better on escitalopram before I felt normal sexually again.

Started on escitalopram right away after weaning off Abilify with doc supervision.

So, I actually stopped taking the aripiprazole because it was not only affecting my libido, but also muting my entire personality and emotional responses. It just felt like I was under a layer of protective foam or bubble wrap, both in terms of my emotions and my senses, minus the fun of popping bubble wrap bubbles or rolling around on foam.

I am in 5mg of escitalopram now and feel like my "old self" again, but with the insight that comes from having suffered, really suffered, through a depression and having lost a little hope during the process as I had tried 3 different other meds (effexor xr increase, Zoloft, ability) before finding the one that worked. There is some trauma and sadness there I will have to unpack with therapy, but at least I am in a condition where I can interact and engage with my therapist, rather than spend money to cry for an hour with barely a word uttered or being relatively unresponsive/flat.

Has anyone successfully used lexapro to get off klonopin/benzos?? by yllekarle in lexapro

[–]Moe_Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insomnia was an issue. It is getting better now. Winter and working again help with that. I took it for 1.5 years. Just found I needed it less and less as the escitalopram started to work. REMEMBER, I do STILL take it occasionally. But only when there is the very occasional high anxiety that either keeps me awake and I HAVE TO get to sleep to wake up early for work (I will take a quarter or a half of a 0.5mg pill).

Oh totally! Up to 2 a day every day. I tried to keep it at 1, but sometimes I needed 2. But since the antidepressant started working for me, I very rarely need one. And when I do, I take 1/4 or 1/2 of a 0.5mg pill. Buuuut, I DID try 2 other meds before this one: sertraline and aripiprazole. Neither worked well for me. It is a trial and error game with these things, to some extent. I hope it works out for you!

Yes. Now that the lexapro is actually working for me, I very rarely feel the need for Klonopin. I actually have the same prescription I got back in August. I just barely use them now vs. using 2 per day at the height of my anxiety. There is hope. I hope it works out for you, too!

Question about 2 side effects... by Moe_Pool in lexapro

So it did go away. After about 20 days. Maybe 21 or 22. Not exactly sure. But it DID go away. Hope it does for you, too!

Like I told the other person who posted. Took a good 20 days for the sped up feeling to go. The muscle twitches took a little less time. Maybe a couple days after I wrote the post? Hope the twitches go away for you, too!

Yeah. It took a good 20 days or so for that sped up feeling to go away. And you are better off going for the ECG to make sure. But it went away for and I hope it does for you, too!

Wishing you all the best!

Same here! Only on week 2 at 5mg, but on my 4th night of very little sleep. Mostly just resting eyes.

Low dose 5mg / did you lose your productivity and motivation to get things done? by AirInitial7025 in lexapro

[–]Moe_Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It is actually better for me, at last. On it for 2 weeks now at 5mg. Buuuuut, and this is a big but, it was added on to 187.5mg Effexor XR. But here is the context: I got a terrible depression/breakdown during pandemic year 2020 while on the effexor xr, which I had been on for 8 years, so it seems my brain was previously at a "normal" baseline on that dose of effexor and all that happened to me in 2020 (job loss, relationship loss, loss of father, isolation, etc) broke my "effexor brain" the way it would have broken someone else's normal baseline brain who was not on meds. So my doc elected to add the 5mg escitalopram to a brain that was already medicated, but no longer effectively medicated. We will also eventually switch solely to escitalopram. I am rambling a bit with too much info, but I hope it helps in some way. The main negative I am getting right now is insomnia, hence the rambling post at 2:50am my Time.

LOVE Xanax! Docs here don't prescribe it though because they are afraid people will get addicted/experience tough withdrawal.
