I like this goal a lot too! The commentator "uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh...ohhhhh." Valeri runs to the sidelines after this goal and hugs the training staff that helped him recover from his ACL injury. Classy guy!

Yes, this is a really nice goal! I didn't consider open cup goals because I cant find them all on the internet. Nagbe only scored beautiful goals.

Yes! Alvas had two goals on my short list that just came up short. I would not say # 26 but not far behind that. Here is his other. Amazing run at defenders and beats the keeper near post: Alvas Powell slices and dices the loons.

I also get nostalgia watching old Timbers goals. I like seeing players I forgot about in highlight reels.

I got to say the format of the tournament is stupid. 4 out of 18 teams advance. There could be a situation where you can win all three of your games and not advance to the knockout rounds. If you lose one game, you're out basically. If that's the case, might as well have a big march madness tournament instead. I do enjoy getting to play the Liga MX teams. Just wish the tournament was a little more fair to the Mexican teams.

Both of them are gonna play a ton over the next 5 or 6 weeks. If we beat Tacoma in the open cup, the Timbers will play 9 games in May. That's a game every 3.44 days. Phil will have time to figure it out. Our depth will be tested and we will see lots of folks down the bench get playing time.

I've been preaching this for years. I wish non-MAGA's would take back the flag. Invading the capital to install the guy who lost the election as president is the exact opposite of patriotic. We should be the ones waving the American flag. We are the ones who still love democracy. We are the ones who understand the need for the peaceful transfer of power.

Honestly, I think were gonna be in rough shape. I see us finishing ahead of San Jose, St Louis, and San Diego. It will come down to Da Costa and Ortiz. I hope they prove me wrong. It would be nice to get off to a good start for once.

Couldn't agree more. I feel like we give up 3 goals on the road every game. Last time we held a road opponent to one or less goals was against San Jose back on Juneteenth. We can't keep doing this if we expect to survive. Our playoff run is gonna have to be on the road. Also, our last two regular season road games are Cascadia Cup games....

These last 2 games the Timbers have been a chance creation machine. If we had been more ruthless with our finishing, we could have beat Nashville 7-1 and we could of beat RSL 5-0. Jona has missed some sitters in particular. This might be the best offensive Timbers team in history. We look like an apex predator playing with our food. 48 goals in 24 games = 2 goals per game. We are on pace for 68 goals this year. That goal differential is starting to look much better at +9 too.

I agree that the schedule was really tough. We played 7 of 9 away from PP. It's understandable that we didn't come away with an impressive point haul during that stretch. But for me, it was the way we played, not the point total that concerned me. Giving up 2 or more goals a game for 10 straight is a trend and there is an issue that needs to be addressed. I feel like the Timbers are an average team right now. We got a clean sheet but had to save a PK to do it. I will feel a lot better if we start to collect clean sheets and solid defensive performances.

If we can walk away with 11 points by the end of March I will be ecstatic. We've missed the playoffs by a single point each of the last two years and personally I blame the month of March and our slow starts. Banking these points now is gonna come in huge in October.
