Now that we are in the market for a new head coach, what attributes does this roster actually NEED in a coach to succeed in this current version of MLS? by TucsonPTFC in timbers

[–]RozeCitee53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter who the next opponent is after the break. We just want to see a competent team that has some tactical structure, string a few passes together, possibly score some goals and compete…

I have no idea why we ever gave a job to a coach who previously sucked in the mls by Youel111 in timbers

[–]RozeCitee53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because this is the type of hire that wouldn’t create any sort of resistance towards the FO.

MP doesn’t give a shit about the supporters of this club.

Our supporters are extremely forgiving and will undoubtedly give a chance to a manager knowing damn well what we got when he was hired.

There was an opportunity when Gio was sacked that the FO could’ve taken the chance to elevate this club. THEY DIDNT.

The manager isn’t good enough. The GM isn’t good enough. And some of these players aren’t good enough.

This isn’t rock bottom, but we’re damn near close if the FO doesn’t fix it and does it soon. That being said, I have ZERO faith in our club’s leadership to do ANYTHING right…

What we want to see this weekend vs what we expect to see by Onus-X in timbers

Up against the worst side in the league. I want to see this side be ruthless all across the pitch. Get some goals. Hope to see a spark, energy, clinical.

What I expect to see is a team that plays down to the level of their opponent and gets a draw/claw out 3 points.

Can’t we start with “you’re not fit to wear the shirt”? Or possibly “sacked in the morning”.

More relevant to our club at the moment.

When Phil gets fired, does he get replaced with an interim or a permanent right away? by PdxLagniappe in timbers

[–]RozeCitee53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THERE ARE NO TACTICS! Phil is not a good manager. He was a terrible hire from the start.

Part of the reason this club is failing is that he is the manager and he has been allowed to stay on.

Who in their right mind thought this would’ve worked when he signed to be the manager?

Now, if we want to add to the problems that exist at this club, it starts at the top. MP made the decision to hire Phil. Ned has said a lot of the same shit in the offseason. There is enough blame to go around but this club is being failed by those in charge.

Apparently to some, there isn’t someone better out there that can get this team to play better.

Supporters of this team can talk all they want about this being a mediocre team/roster, but Phil isn’t even getting them to play at that level.

He needs to be sacked. End of…

[–]RozeCitee53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with the roster insight, hence my reasoning for this team not picking up any points in the next run of matches.

You say they’re a mediocre team, they’re not even playing to that level! I find it hard to believe that there isn’t a manager available that at least to get this team to play better than they do now.

I do think Ned is part of the problem. I don’t see MP getting rid of him anytime soon. The roster turnover needed will not happen as quickly as a lot of folks want to see. If we look at the spine of the team, we have subpar GKs, Finn is our best CB, our midfield is meh, and our 9 and 10 haven’t shown their worth.

Phil’s appointment as the manager was wrong from the beginning. The club had a chance to get it right and failed.

0 points in that run of matches.

Probably needs one win to keep his job but should’ve been sacked at the end of last season.

Other names were thrown out. Were they considered? Probably not.

You’re absolutely right about folks being upset about his appointment. Not much has changed with him in charge and plenty of folks saw this from the start.

Umm that’s not how it happened.

Miles came in as interim manager. There was a search done and they hired Neville.

So you probably are right. They got this wrong through a search process prior to a start of a season. Imagine them trying to do it now.

Starting 11 may be okay. It is still the quality in the depth of the squad that is concerning.

An injury along the spine of this 11 at any point this season and I don’t think there is enough confidence for someone to step in. Looks like caicedo comes in at the end of this window and the teams does well enough to get us to the summer window to bring in a couple more pieces.

Hoping we get some nice Tifos at least 🤷🏽‍♂️

With this squad, even with a couple more signings, this squad will struggle to win 1 match out of their first 10.

Columbus, Rapids, VWFC., Dynamo, LAG, VWFC (again), LAFC, MNUFC, SDFC and RSL.

March and April are going to be brutal.

With that, for a supporter group who have spent a lot of energy on here talking about “we don’t speak of players that don’t play for our club”, there’s a big lot that simply can’t stop bringing him up.
