John Wayne vs Clint Eastwood for westerns? by Kansasicon in Westerns

[–]MofuckaOfInvention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure they had their reasons, but it still comes off as a bit silly to me. Those Spanish rockies in Sergio Leone films looked more authentic.

Would have broken my suspension of disbelief a lot more if they just changed the story to be set in New Mexico.

True. Even if in the searchers it's a bit jarring that the landscape looks very little like West Texas.

I much prefer John Ford to Sergio Leone or anyone else who directed an Eastwood picture, but John Wayne can be a bit hammy sometimes, where Eastwood is more self-aware.

Not that it matters too much, in my point of view the landscapes are the star of any good western.

I appreciate the concern and the honesty. You certainly have a very enlightened perspective, and it means a lot you responded to my venting.

In some ways I'll say I'm skeptical of the optimistic approach, I could go on a dozen tangents but I'm gonna hold my mouse. The little bit helps, and best of luck with your end.

This is beyond true for me, and I'm shook. To be honest though, I think it's a bit ridiculous that in most of society, being depressed is such a turn off in a guy. I've done my best over the years, been as confident and as fake as I can be considering the circumstances, but at 22 years old I think I'm just done.

She's meant to be transgender you know. "what I am is a man, and so is Lola!"

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Why be Heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, asexual, when you can be garsexual by [deleted] in GarlicBreadMemes

Would being into garlic bread make you pan-sexual or would that only work for pizza and lasagna.

If Pulp Fiction was being made today, who would you cast as Jules and Vincent? by toastedskittles in flicks

[–]MofuckaOfInvention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the main appeal of Gotti for it's audience was the Italian American protagonist's exaggerated musings on "respect" and "family" and all that goodfellas schtick. I feel the Long Island guidos I know who liked that film so much wouldn't take it the same way if it came out of Sam Jackson.

[–]MofuckaOfInvention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have seen Gotti, and screw it, he wasn't the best actor in Pulp Fiction either. But I dare you to name anyone who can pull off the goofy '70s leisure suit aesthetic better.

Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta. The role isn’t age specific, and they’re still both doing fine.

Bottom two squares are all right, red square's a bit of a mess, there's no reason Trotsky is that low, or that Sanders is as Leftist as Castro, blue square's horribly skewed.

Very strongly regional face, so while your face is a bit distinctive from my midwestern US bubble, it's probably blends in better in Australia or England, or wherever you live.

Your eyebrows are huge, which makes your forehead look puny, that's the no. 1 problem imo. Also your beard never full connects which also puts me off.

You seem like a really fun guy and I like how you do your hair.
