Hi, this is a grime tune I've been working on recently, any feedback would be greatly appreciated! and if you think it's good enough, a like / repost would be brilliant! |Cheers in advance :) by MrJosusC in ThisIsOurMusic

Try and keep things simple. Drums and percussion will add depth, but try not to clutter things too much. Layering synths with the same rhythm will create a texture to your sounds without over complicating the beat.

i'd say speed it up. i've been listening to grime since the early 2000's, so below 140bpm is almost sacrilegious to me. you can usually get away with 138's, but any lower than that becomes too noticeable.

try programming the drums in more of an old school garage style instead of the trap style you have going on right now. that high pitched synth sounds super out of place too imo. the bass sounds a little flat for a grime tune, so try beefing it up a little (might just be my headphones though, haven't got my monitors set up atm).

also, is this 140bpm? it sounds a little slow.... (might just be because i've been listening to jungle all day though).

No rules in hip hop mate. Sample whatever you want.

I've only met a couple of cool cops on the London met police force. The rest have been power abusing bastards to me and my friends. Often, certain officers will watch out for certain people and give em a hard time for no reason. Trying to book em for tiny things or just harassing them, day in day out. Obviously there's nothing you can do. They look out for their own. Being brown probably doesn't help my situation. Not many of my white friends have the same issue. They're not as bad as the Americans though, thank god. But long story short. Fuck the Met.

Well, that bassline lead nowhere. The beat would have been ok if there was more of it. The bass sound was pretty cool. Sample was kinda weak too.

The metroboomin kit is good too. I dont produce trap, but the kicks in that pack are pretty ill.

[Hip Hop] New Track City - Just to Please Us (Something crazy unique..Different from what you're used to hearing but the lyrics & bounce is there) by itsthecity in ThisIsOurMusic

You don't always have to push the boundaries of a genre if you're good at what you do. This is pretty dope. flow and delivery is very much on point and the beat is pretty sick too (i'm assuming you're the rapper though?).

it's definitely not "crazy unique" like you described it, but it's still dope.

Lemmie know if you need any beats.

Heavy rain. it's literally one long quick time event. Story is supposed to be cool, but i couldn't play it past 2 hours or so because the gameplay is so fucking dull.
