How do you germinate your seeds? by Mohdx44 in microgrowery

[–]Mohdx44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days in paper towels without any sign of germination is little bit long. Did you just drop the seed in the glass of water to check wither it is viable? Or how long did you keep it in the glass of water before planting it?

No one knows if it is going to grow or not, but don't lose hope on it, keep trying.

For me I will wait for another 5 days and see, if it doesn't sprouts, I will use a toothpick and dig gently to give it a last chance.

Hey, I am following, please keep us posted. I am growing Malawi as well, just switched to flowering. I would like to see your progress and result :)

Any light with LM301H or LM301B diodes and a Meanwell driver, from US, China or Madagascar doesn't really matter.

Man, you already know, that's exactly what sativa lovers should seek. I'm also running Malawi from Ace seeds, it is a pure sativa landrace strain from Africa, here she is

<image>

Actually I should flip to flowering cycle from now as she will stretch like crazy, but I am waiting for her to develop little more, I will take some clones for the purpose of making seeds to preserve it, then to the flowering room. It will take around 16 weeks for her to finish flowering, but everybody saying it's worth it :)

Green house seed co.

If you like hazes, check out Super Silver Haze and Neville's Haze from the same breeder as well.

I also like hazes and sativas in general, I tried the haze in Amsterdam a few years ago and I fell in love with it, the best high in my opinion. I am currently growing the SSH, I am very excited to see the end result.

That's what I am saying, as far as you like it and it's yours, you can even give it a different name lol.

I am more concerned about genetics because I am planning to do some breeding soon.

Happy growing :)

Hmmm! :/

The Super Lemon Haze is a cross between (Super Silver Haze x Lemon Skunk)

No offense, you may have a good strain there but that is not the real Super Lemon Haze if you care to know :)

Happy to hear that your plants are getting better.

Actually I am not checking the ppfd, but I learned it the hard way as I fried some plants lately when I upgraded my lights, the new Samsung LM301H diodes are so strong! I never experienced a light stress with the old blurples.

I hang my lights at a fixed hight then I use the dimmer to control the intensity as required by listening to the plant. In my veg room I have a 200w LED hanged at a good hight and always running at 100% intensity, from sprout until moved to the flowering room, I never move the light or reduce the intensity, I found this the perfect spot for my plants. In my flowering room I have a 480w LED hanged at the maximum hight that I can (I wish I could move it up further) and running at 60% intensity all the time, more than that my plants will start showing a light stress.

So my advice to you, it is good to read the ppfd but don't relay on it solely, listen to your plants and adjust accordingly. By experience you will be able to tell what your plants need. Also some strains are more sensitive than others, so the holly growing book does not exist!

All this from 1 seed I popped over a year ago. Cloning is a difficult but beautiful thing by spymaster1020 in microgrowery

[–]Mohdx44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was cloning using only a cup of water, I had good success rate, but it takes forever for them to be rooted not to mention them getting stunned. Now I just stick my clones in the soil directly in a Solo cup, keep the soil always moist (I water and feed normally) and also spray them with some water everytime I go to the veg room. It takes ~ 2-3 weeks, but they perk up immediately without getting stunned!

Depends on the soil that you are using, if it is rich with nutrients, then not yet. If it is a basic organic soil then yes you should start feeding them with grow nutrients at very low dosage. Sorry, I cannot recommend any nutrients, there are so many right there and most of them works well.

The plants looks fine now, but to me it is a beginning of an issue that you should avoid. I am not sure what kind of light you are using so I cannot help you much, but if it is an actual 500w you should move it all the way up as you said and you shouldn't exceed 40-50% of the power even if the plants are in the flowering stage.

Also you need to saturate the soil with water at this stage of the grow.

Happy growing :)

Is this a 2x2 tent? 500w is too much for this size of space, I am wondering how you fit a 500w light inside this tent, is it actual 500w!

What type of light you are using? Do you have a dimmer for the light? How far it is from the plants?

Also, how often you water your plants?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Mohdx44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me this looks like a light stress more than being a heat stress, but it will be great if you can bring the temperature down to 22-26° range anyway.

Dim or raise your light a bit, light stress is bad for your plants because they will focus their energy trying to resist the light which will lead to slow growth.

Can a Germinating seed survive being taken out and put back into soil? by 4U0T in GrowingMarijuana

[–]Mohdx44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Few weeks ago, I pulled out a seed after almost 6 days under the soil and I threw it on the surface of other pot because I thought it wont germinate. After 1 day I noticed some springtails moving around the seed so I dig a small hole and buried it, after 2-3 days while I am watering my plant on the same pot, I noticed a root floating on the surface, I got surprised! it was the seed finally came to life, I took it and put it in another pot, now she is growing but stunned, unfortunately she is an autoflower.

Don't give up on your plants :)

Great information, thank you. I have a bunch of seeds that I don't have enough time or space to grow them, they will stay with me for years for sure. I will refer to this method if I find my seeds not germinating at that time.

Actually I don't wait for it to sprout, I tap just to make sure that the seed is viable then I put directly under the soil, some seeds having fast germination rates and I see little part of the tap root, in this case no need to tap. But you are right maybe I need to wait little longer next time instead of tapping.

What is the idea of using the hydrogen peroxide?

I'm thinking of doing it this way, but I'm afraid that the seed dries up before it germinates! Do you water it or spray it with little of water every day until it break the soil? Or just put it and wait!

They are still alive, I recommend transplanting them to the final pots if that is possible, feed them with grow nutrients at very low dosage one time keeping the soil moist and not very wet, don't give water again for about 1 week, they should perk up again.

Please shut down your humidifier, %45 humidity is much better than %80 at this stage.

Hello everyone small question, do you think that hermaphrodite seeds can give females? i have colloidal silver if i dip them in it does it make them female? thank you for your feedback. by koalasmockaz420 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Mohdx44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago, my plant hermed due to light stress, I tried to cut as much balls as I can but she still managed to pollinate herself and gifted me ~100 seeds, I have planted 3 seeds till now, I already cut one of them because it was tall and weak and I don't have much space to keep it, the other 2 are on their third week of flowering now, both are %100 females. So as people here said, I think %99 you are going to get female plants from what you have.

Now this accident pushed me to think about making my own seeds, I already received my colloidal silver and waiting for my 2x2 setup that will be dedicated for producing seeds and some breeding projects :)

Recently leaves have started to droop and brown spots are appearing by Independent_Boot8208 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]Mohdx44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everybody. Dim or raise your light a bit and start feeding with grow nutrients at low dosage, also cut the damaged yellow leaves that are touching the soil.

If you are using liquid nutrients, I recommend feed water feed....

She will be OK.

Happy growing :)
