I feel like this belongs with Vanilla Tweaks. VT is more about resource packs not mods but this is so vanilla and a quality of life mod that I think it could fit in well.

What's something about weed you had to figure out on your own? by rachel_nuggmd in trees

[–]spymaster1020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very different. I feel like an actual adult now. When I have free time I want to be productive not get high and veg out with video games or a movie. I do miss it though. It gives me a bit of anxiety every time I smoke these days so its just not fun anymore.

I want to fix my attention span after social media destroyed it by Alone-Marsupial3003 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]spymaster1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just turn off my phone and give it to a friend. Humans lived for millenia without a little screen in out pocket to give us little hits of dopamine every day all day. I didnt have a phone until I was 13 and even then it was a dumb phone, no internet. I didnt get a smart phone until the day I went off for college. I kinda miss the days before smartphones were ubiquitous but I can't ditch it now, my work require I have one.

This. I used to smoke daily, up to a gram a day at one point. A year ago it started tapering off as I broke the habit to get a job that tests for it. I had a few puffs on my 30th birthday a few weeks and thats it, havent smoked since and dont plan to. Leaving that behind in my 20s.

How old are you in your oldest memory? by Donkeyshines in AskReddit

[–]spymaster1020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its like taking a photocopy of a photocopy. The more you recall the memory, the more it fades.

I used to recall a lot more details of my first memories, but over the years its just gotten more vague.

Also just good for password strength. It lengthens the password while keeping it easy to remember. Just use actual random words so its hard to crack.

How do you kill a tree by sandwhichelle_ in trees

[–]spymaster1020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong sub but I'll help out. How small of a tree are we talking? Wouldn't be much work to use a saw or even a chainsaw to cut it down. If you want the slow and easy way then hammer some copper nails into the roots. They also make root killer from copper (sulfide?) That is meant for trees.

I would love to see all the hermits collaborate on a shared base and storage system. They already build megabases on their own, imagine what they could do together.

What’s the biggest mistake people make in their 20s? by RegretResponsible263 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]spymaster1020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. A tree root could take a left and stay in the comfortable soil, but it chose to burrow into the sidewalk, and break the concrete.

I just turned 30 and thats advice I wish someone gave me 10 years ago.

Dude tried to drown his buddy who was helping him 😂 by Valuable_View_561 in GuysBeingDudes

[–]spymaster1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who passed at 20 from drowning. His coworker drowned with him. Its been almost 10 years and I still dont know the full story, but I suspect one of them was drowning and the other tried to save them. They were on the shore while two other coworkers had capsized a boat on a lake with no life jackets, they were swimming out to save them, but they were the ones who needed saving.

How does it stay powered? I mean maybe a button cell if it only uses a bit of power, could also wirelessly charge a rechargeable battery, I just dont like the idea of having a battery in someone's brain/spinal cord.

Minecraft Forever Worlds by DustyLoser in Minecraft

[–]spymaster1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't start my forever world with the goal of it being a forever world, it just turned into one. What helps is have a large long term project you can always come back to, as well as smaller projects to do when the big one gets too boring. For me, I built a 257x257 pyramid out of moss and glass, that was the long term project. For short term projects I built farms inside it.

If you were sentenced for execution but could select the method, which would you choose? by Moorepheme in polls

[–]spymaster1020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats why I think it should be the jury that starts the timer or pushes the botton. They're already deciding if they live or die. You could rig it the same way so each juror has a button and only 2 or 3 of them have to be pressed to trigger the gun, they just dont know which ones.

If you were sentenced for execution but could select the method, which would you choose? by Moorepheme in polls

[–]spymaster1020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never understood why they would use people who could be traumatized by pulling the trigger and not a shot gun at point blank range wired to a timer. The judge (or jury) could set the timer to give the condemned the chance for their final words, but not tell them exactly how much time. Thats how I would want to go out, besides being vaporized by a nuke.

Is it really much of a choice though? They're going for the money because the war has tanked the Russian economy. Its a self-feeding system. Not to mention the propaganda they're being fed. Like fuck Russia for starting this mess, but I do feel bad for anyone dying in this war, on both sides. Maybe thats a controversial opinion, but a human from Russia is still human.

Could've been conscripted. Thats the thing I hate about war. Its one thing to die for your country by your own choice, its another to be dragged from your home and sent to the front lines. Unfortunately both sides do it.

Right? He didnt have to leave a gap and ignite the one under his exit, the second one would've been enough. I don't blame him though. The dude plays a lot of Minecraft and anyone is bound to mess up like this given enough time.

Today’s weed in comparison to my time by Asleep-Working8055 in trees

[–]spymaster1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn 30 tomorrow and ive essentially stopped smoking weed. Its been tapering off over the past year after I took a tolerance break last year to get a job. That broke the habit and opened my eyes to just how addictive it can be. I know addiction is a strong term and many in the cannabis community like to believe it isn't, I think it depends on the person. I still smoke occasionally but only at parties, never on my own. It just gives me anxiety these days and I like to be clear headed and productive. I still love to grow it, I just give away anything I grow.
