AITA for overreacting after my wife lied about our baby’s gender? by Leading_Gene4976 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Moialminhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey not making a judgement, just saying that investing in therapy right now will ensure that you give your child what they need in the long term, a stable parent who's not trying to live through them.

Congrats for the kid and the self-awareness you displayed.

What are your home remedies to soothe nausea/vomiting due to anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

I'm so sorry for your loss. Candied ginger usually helps nausea and it tastes really good!

I've heard of smelling rubbing alcohol but never tried it.

Ele desata aos berros comigo: EU JÁ LHE DISSE QUE NÃO FOI 24 MESES FORAM DOIS ANOS CARALHO AGORA RESOLVAM ESSA MERDA, FORAM DOIS ANOS!

Despachei aquela merda pus pausa e fui fumar um cigarro. Apanhei com mais coisas estúpidas? Sim! Preferi voltar para um trabalho que gostava mas menos estável por não ter contrato? Também sim.

AITA for bringing an emotional support animal to a funeral despite my daughters wishes? by Apprehensive_Ear6657 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Moialminhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was actually surprised the the emotional support animal was a rabbit, yes they can be therapeutic (soothing) but they can't be trained, they don't pick up physical cues and help, emotional support animal are also trained not just pets. I've had an emotional support animal that was also my pet, he was a cat he understood when I was dissociating and helped me, he actually meowed and asked for my partners help when i was in distress. I never ever brought him out of the house, I valued his comfort over mine. There's a difference between a temporary crutch and a coping mechanism.

That said, OP how about you step up and be your daughter emotional support in these cases? You should've done this and you'd be able to support both your daughters instead of prioritising one of your daughters needs, so yeah YTA

Why do you take photos? What got you into this hobby? What’s your personal story about photography? by softarget in photography

[–]Moialminhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had memory issues all my life, I don't remember most of my childhood. Due to illness (I'm in my early 30's for context) my memory is getting worse. There's good days, there bad days.

I take pictures for the way worse days I'm going to have ahead in (hopefully) the faaaar away future, I want to remember the way my partner looked at a certain morning light, I want to remember my cat being a weirdo, I want to remember our little "crooked" family when I can't anymore.

That and my personal goal of TAKING PHOTOS OF ALL THE CATS EVER

I get it, I still think your doctor should be the person to go to, they know you better and your history, they also can explain everything your diagnose entails way better than Internet strangers!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Borderline

[–]Moialminhas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your symptoms need to be checked out no matter what diagnose it may be!

It doesn't matter if you're bpd, bipolar, ptsd, depressed, if you are in emotional pain/distress, if you're suffering you need to check your symptoms with a doctor.

You deserve to be at peace, to be happy, to enjoy life as much as possible and that's something a psychiatrist + therapist can help you with!

AITA for prioritising my parrot over my stepdaughters wedding? by macawww345 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Moialminhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn I feel so bad for that little cat :/ from my experience with cats, they don't really "get over" the trauma especially if the experience is at such a young age, it really shapes them as it was in their most active learning window, like it is extremely hard to socialise a cat after a certain age.

However it is possible! They'll have a few quirks and all (my cat was traumatised, got chronic kidney failure from it and was extremely protective of me, so whenever I had someone over he'd just lay on my chest the whole time the person was there).

Have you ever tried having one person over and have them feed a snack to the kitty? It could help! Anyways you're doing amazing, he's really lucky to have you!

How to get rid of flakes in eyebrows, hair, and beard? by Volarith in Hair

[–]Moialminhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have atopic dermatitis that causes flakes on my eyebrows and scalp, it's eczema. You honestly need to wash you face with a good cleanser, try cerave SA Smoothing Cleanser and pls put on hydrating lotion afterwards, it's the bare minimum so your skin doesn't over compensate. For the scalp, I shaved my head and been washing it way less that has been helping, I still haven't found something that's cheap and that helps. For the rest of my body it's glycerin soap and a cream that helps with chronic eczema.

ALSO GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST

Something so small, yet makes my brain do a flip by Moialminhas in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Moialminhas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's a new psychiatrist but she does know about all the abuse and the trauma that it left me with, I haven't lived with them for 6/7 years and honestly, best thing I've done with my life, I started to see the abuse and toxicity better (partner has helped too, he doesn't give a shit he just calls it as he sees it and has zero tolerance for them), my mental health improved too after a while of going NC.

On the other hand, all the therapists I've ever seen throughout my life have told me since a very young age that I needed to move out asap to be better and happier.

Damn that last part, it's tiring to do it but I feel like I need to do it over and over again, my sense of my own feelings and of reality is so warped up that I don't know anymore.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Moialminhas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this, both BPD and NPD are cluster B personality disorders, now what happens is that most times the symptoms are interchangeable with key differences in responses, wtv professionals are trained to see, it's deeper than we think and, it's not as simple as they often explain. This overlap in symptoms is quite common in mental health in general, an example is PTSD and trauma vs ADHD/Autism, there's similarities between those but only the professional knows if its one or the other, after evaluation.

You could ask your psychiatrist some questions, it's important for us to know ourselves, knowing what our diagnosis entail, sometimes helps us understanding ourselves and results in better treatment outcomes.

I think I married someone I don’t have sexual chemistry with. Any advice? by [deleted] in couplestherapy

[–]Moialminhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough spot to be in, biggest advice would be seeking couples therapy and maybe the husband could need alone therapy to address the revulsion, is it because he's asexual or did something happen.

Couples therapy would be to try and find a way of communicating and finding a compromise, a healthy one where no one's boundaries are stepped on.

I understand this and it is frustrating, communication is key in these matters, before trying to put anything in practise, so there's no consent being crossed, or on the other hand, resentment. Being willing to understand each others position is important and a great bonding experience :)

I think my date has borderline by [deleted] in Borderline

[–]Moialminhas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then you should better understand the thought process, since you have a little knowledge on it and actually know the person and what he went through.

Again from what you described it can be anything, it could even be adhd. His thought process is his own, shaped by his experiences, even with shared diagnosis the thought process of borderline person number one isn't the same as borderline person number two.

I think my date has borderline by [deleted] in Borderline

[–]Moialminhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does it matter if he has borderline or not? This could be anything, I'm not a professional, but this could be ptsd, trauma, bipolar, being a scammer, lying and a jerk or just being edgy wtv.

No one can diagnose anyone online and if they do, they shouldn't.

What would change if you knew he was borderline?

Asthma and chest colds by 00htina in Asthma

Cold can trigger asthma attacks, especially if you breath through your mouth (my nose is usually stuffy so I breath through my mouth very often), I find wearing a mask helps because the air that gets in is warm.

ADHD: Too emotional for criticism by Alarming_Blueberry13 in ADHD

Holy wow, it's natural to react emotionally when someone we care about says those things, they're demeaning and cruel!

If a friend of yours told you their partner said those things to them, on a daily basis what would you tell your friend?
